Very Game Boy! I can definitely imagine this being a published game back in the day!
The graphics are really nice on this! The sound design is great too. Felt very much like a classic GB rpg. Really well done!
Beautiful presentation. Looks just like a classic Gameboy game (Link's Awakening, Pokemon Blue/Red, Jurassic Park). The game gives an effective impression of large scope, with the switching between space travel and planetary exploration.
Some areas do not have music, and the absence is felt. (This happened to me, too... I ran out of time for composing.)
Also, it would be helpful if the player character could have a wounded animation (or get knocked back, or flash, etc.). I would notice that I had been hit only when I checked the HUD in the upper left corner.
Lastly, I felt myself wanting to know more about the characters and their world. The villagers mostly said generic lines ("Welcome to our village," etc.). This is an opportunity to show what is unique and distinctive about each of these worlds in particular.
Thanks for the feedback! You made some valid points. the character does flash when hit but it probably doesn't last long enough and it could use a sound there too perhaps. I definitely would have enjoyed another day or two to refine the game some more!
This is a very retro adventure game. I especially like the music compositions. Quite fun, quite polished! Great work!
Thank you for playing! The composers did an awesome job, it was very lucky to have them on the project!
Great work! I really enjoyed the sense of adventure and setting exploration. It really nailed the gameboy soul, IMHO. There's lots of things I loved about this game, but just to name a few:
-Dino aliens (RAWR!)
-Multiple live feeling locales (without getting too wordy on the dialogue)
-Gameplay switch-ups
Thanks for the fun game :D
Thanks so much for playing and for the kind words!
nice work on this
the art style, the different player views, such as space ship and player. dialog system as well.
everything looks awesome.
rated highly :)
Thanks so much for playing, I'm really glad you enjoyed it!
Really good game! First - . It drops you without a word in to the open space, but after a while everything is clear. It reminds me of the legend of zelda in space, puzzles, enemies to defeat in real time combat, collecting items. Interesting hybrid. Only the ship battle part was too hard for me, its little unfair how enemy bullets hit you. But i will comeback to finish the game (i suppose that on this planet lays last part and game end when you repair it? And its soo cool that it works on orginal hardware (or emulators only but still, amazing).
Have nice day (or evening)!
Thanks for playing the game and the detailed review!
You were so close to completing the game! The last level is maybe a little challenging, but it does checkpoint a couple of times before you reach the boss. Perhaps I could fine tune the difficulty later. I called it the pro gamer level.
wow amazing game, graphics art everything. only problem is that it's maybe a bit too big. I have no clue where to go or what to do. I rate it very highly.
Thanks for playing! Yeah its an RPG style of game so I wanted to let the player explore without directing them too much, but maybe it could be adjusted to direct the player some more, thanks for the feedback!
This game is so cute!
Thanks for checking it out! ^_^
