I liked the heartwarming ending.
The shift in focus to Slavic tradition was welcome, too.
I liked it.

How does your game meet GBJam's theme?
It uses a static color palette of only four colors. All sounds and music made with a gameboy VST that emulates the hardware sound. Controls are 4 buttons (A, B, Start, Select) plus a D-Pad. As for the spooky theme, I chose a color palette that was halloween-y and tried to incorporate horror near the end of the game as a unexpected feature of sorts. The music is also a bit spooky, but thats just the nature of soviet style folk songs. The game also takes place during Halloween (October 31st), although the game shifts the focus to different traditions that are celebrated by other cultures. The monster designs are also pretty spooky, created with the glory of the Gameboy's limited color palette.
