How does your game meet GBJam's theme?
The main character enters a Halloween world full of monsters in a Gameboy to save his brother.

Please, use the exe version for now. I left the web version (because, you know, it's for the lazy) :D. Currently, the web version has a slight bug that imposes an outline that looks like a lighter color, which is not true, because the entire game uses 4 colors.

Once I got used to some elements that felt a bit ambiguous (the thorny bushes and the climbable surface), I enjoyed the game a lot. Very nice presentation overall, really solid entry. Congrats!

Developer(+1)

Generally in my head this ambiguous was to catch off guard people, but probably i made it too ambiguous. Thank you!

That was fun! Some of the graphics are a bit hard to read (those extra enemies in the final boss caught me off-guard!), but the art and character designs are charming. The gameplay is competent and fun; I especially like the boomerang game console!

Some of the sound effects are a little loud.

All-in-all, good work!

To the Sunday evening there was no even last boss haha. Thank you so much for feedback!

While it feels more like the PC and home console platformers of its time than a GB game, I still had a lot of fun to the point of beating it. What might be lacking in refinement here and there, it makes up for it in sheer length.

Developer

Overall, the fact that I managed to put it together to the end of the jam turned out to be a success for me, despite the desire to polish it I simply had to sacrifice something. :D I am really glad that you had fun playing this game, it's the whole point!

Loads of fun! Some of the hazards come off as background, but I was having a blast blasting ghosts

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Someone told me you played it on stream and i watched it later :D I saw stuck on the falling trap from the roof, for information instead of instant jumping down between boxes you can bait it with your character from the higher box, just go to the edge and back. Appreciate!

Nice tip, I'll give it another go! Definitely the most fun I had with any of the platformer style games I played today but I'm more of a Metroid/Megaman fan over Mario lol
But yea, very good work!

I really liked the game. There was a surprising amount of content and it really felt like a complete game boy game. Good Job!!!

Developer

Maybe even too much for game jam?!? There are like 3 lvls with 3 bosses.  But at the end happy with the result, it's gonna stay there. :D
Thank You!

very smooth gameplay.  I love the snappy jumps and weapon throw, which also comes back like a boomerang. I do appreciate the checkpoints because even though i am a decent platform player, i died a lot. Also i really like how you can not pick up candies when you have 5 of them, it makes it a safety candy pickup if you need one without dying.

Thank you for playing and feedback!

Nicely done. I like the gfx and the novel idea.

Thanks for playing!

Great job! I actually featured your game in my livestream review:

I am honored! Thank you, I appreciate the "look" at music :D

Very cute 2d platformer :) I particularly liked the way the thrown weapon bends back towards you, which gives you a new way to hit monsters.

Developer

The main idea was for the gameboy to come back to us like a boomerang, opening different attacks, instead of changing weapons. Thanks!

This is so classic. With my platforming skills the amount of checkpoints really helped xD

Here I can thank my girlfriend. As a Souls'Like player I have a problem with difficulty level , but she goes through the test versions and says "oh, it's too hard, give me a checkpoint" xD Glad it helped!

The web version has a little bug and sometimes make a outline (which seems to make exceed with the 4 colors), it was not possible to fix it in time, so you need to have that in mind while playing on it on web.

In the exe, however, the bug doesn't occur. (Left web vs right exe)
