That was a cute little game, and by the last level I was in absolute madness mode. I like the concept, and I think it was done pretty well here. I suppose the only thing I can really think to add is a bit of polish and balance as well as more levels. Great work on this one!

fun little shooter, it got pretty challenging by the 3rd level but i managed to get through. it does kinda lack the gameboy soul a bit but that's not to say at all that it's bad, on the contrary tbh. this is a really good entry!
THIS has the soul 100%. i'm reminded that a simple but compelling concept is all ya need, this speaks volumes to that. As for feedback, An audio cue for damage would be helpful. Other than that i actually enjoy the difficulty quite a bit, older games were unforgiving and this is almost in the same vein. This in my opinion, makes it fun, because its not impossible. It feels like it's a skill you can learn.
As for bugs, as the apparitions get super close to the screen their hit boxes don't seem to line up with the actual entity, its around 2-3 pixels inside the outline. this might be because its looking for the entire crosshair being inside the outline, i am unsure.
Whenever you make it available for download, ill be the first in line. id love to play this on my own time. Bravo!
And congratulations on your first game!
THANKYOU SO MUCH πππthis means so much to me π and thankyou very much for the feedback regarding audio and hitbox. I think I forgot to change the default rect hitbox to a circular one so it detects hits way out of the original shape as well. Its a good thing i went with this idea then because i would have 100% burnt myself out with the previous idea of a visual novel game. After i get a break from uni ill definitely finish the post jam version.
So, I was mashing the fire button and suddenly the level ended. Since I was still mashing, I accidentally bought something in the store. Besides that, the crosshair feels snappy and responsive.
Nice entry, congrats!
this was really cute and fun. i thought i'd have a tough time but it was not too bad, the movement being so fast added to the fast-paced feel of the game. it would be a nice QoL to have a confirmation for the item select -- i was kind of zooming and accidentally clicked an item without reading.
