This is a really clever use of the separation mechanic! Deceptively simple, because even though the mechanics are not complicated, the level layouts make it quite challenging. I think sometimes I'm probably using separation when I don't have to or shouldn't. Nice work!
This is quite good to play. Similar to my game but quite cozy unlike mine. Nice work. I just kinda confuse that how do you end at the bottom to win?? It keep popping at the end. And there is no explanation for that in game or in description.
Relaxing music and vibe, had issue with game told me to try again, but moved me on to the next level anyway.
this was so good! I played on mobile and got a nice feeling playing!
This is great! I don't know if anyone will remember this but it reminds me of the minigame in Beyond Good and Evil where you have to control two pearls independently (using the left and right sticks). The levels feel tough but fair - my only quibble would be that it seems as though the bubble and/or mines have square hitboxes that make it difficult to tell exactly how close you can get, especially diagonally: trying to get the bubbles in between the two small mines in particular feels like a bit of a dice roll.
My only other quibble would be that needing keyboard and mouse feels like overkill. I'd like to see the option to control left/right with mouse movements and separation with left click and/or keyboard only (maybe with S on WASD or down on arrow keys to separate). A really trivial gripe for a jam game, I know - I just think it would be nice to have a control scheme that lets people play one-handed.
Thank you for the response Damon! You are correct, the bubbles and mines do have square hitboxes and even though I tried to make them pretty forgiving I still got the feeling that I was getting some "unfair" hits during my last playtesting session, that's because of the diagonal tip of the hitboxes, that's definetly something I overlooked that I shouldn't have, but I'm really glad that you had a good experience overall.
About the controls, I'm afraid you are correct about this too, when the reviews started coming in I realized how bad of a decision was to make it only A/D without the arrow options, and not giving a hotkey for the separation, I think spacebar would have worked very well.
I'm really thankful for the feedback, I'll update the game as soon as the rating ends and will try to release it on mobile and see how it does. Thank you!
Hitboxes are super hard to get right without other people to playtest, I find: if you know where they are to begin with, it's pretty much impossible to look at the game in the same way as someone coming to it for the first time. Even if you trace a circle around the mines, there's a question of whether or not you expand it to include the little spiky trigger points.
The controls really do strike me as potential for a post-jam update rather than a must-have to begin with. I'd also be interested to see a mobile version, though I expect that would probably take a more substantial re-think. I'm guessing that swiping left/right with an on-screen button to separate might work nicely, but it's hard to imagine how that might actually feel to play or if there might be a better option available. If you do tackle another version after the jam I'd be keen to see it!
Simple graphics but a neat take on a runner game. I like the bubble splitting though I wish I could move while split a little or be able to influence how fast or slow I came back together or even some kind of speed boost to help mix things up a little. Overall though a fun time.
Simple and fun! I like this type of chill gameplay. I've found that when you are at the bottom and you lose, it says try again but the button takes you to the next level anyway.
As a suggestion, the background could get darker and darker the deeper you go, you could even add glowing elements like bioluminescent fish.
Cool game, congrats!
Hey friend!
I Heard about the "try again" glitch from some other people too, Sorry about that, It Will soon be patched!
Those suggestions are great, I really feel like I can keep working to improve and eventually release a great mobile game.
Glad you enjoyed your time with the game and thanks for the suggestions;
