The initial idea is interesting and well exploited throughout the game, it was fun to pass all the levels, well done

Developer

thank you friend! Glad you played all of the levels :)

This is great! I don't know if anyone will remember this but it reminds me of the minigame in Beyond Good and Evil where you have to control two pearls independently (using the left and right sticks). The levels feel tough but fair - my only quibble would be that it seems as though the bubble and/or mines have square hitboxes that make it difficult to tell exactly how close you can get, especially diagonally: trying to get the bubbles in between the two small mines in particular feels like a bit of a dice roll.

My only other quibble would be that needing keyboard and mouse feels like overkill. I'd like to see the option to control left/right with mouse movements and separation with left click and/or keyboard only (maybe with S on WASD or down on arrow keys to separate). A really trivial gripe for a jam game, I know - I just think it would be nice to have a control scheme that lets people play one-handed.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the response Damon! You are correct, the bubbles and mines do have square hitboxes and even though I tried to make them pretty forgiving I still got the feeling that I was getting some "unfair" hits during my last playtesting session, that's because of the diagonal tip of the hitboxes, that's definetly something I overlooked that I shouldn't have, but I'm really glad that you had a good experience overall.

About the controls, I'm afraid you are correct about this too, when the reviews started coming in I realized how bad of a decision was to make it only A/D without the arrow options, and not giving a hotkey for the separation, I think spacebar would have worked very well.

I'm really thankful for the feedback, I'll update the game as soon as the rating ends and will try to release it on mobile and see how it does. Thank you!

Hitboxes are super hard to get right without other people to playtest, I find: if you know where they are to begin with, it's pretty much impossible to look at the game in the same way as someone coming to it for the first time. Even if you trace a circle around the mines, there's a question of whether or not you expand it to include the little spiky trigger points.

The controls really do strike me as potential for a post-jam update rather than a must-have to begin with. I'd also be interested to see a mobile version, though I expect that would probably take a more substantial re-think. I'm guessing that swiping left/right with an on-screen button to separate might work nicely, but it's hard to imagine how that might actually feel to play or if there might be a better option available. If you do tackle another version after the jam I'd be keen to see it!

This game could easily be a mobile game !! nice

Developer

Thanks a lot friend!!

This game is kinda relaxing and it's fun to collect the pink bubbles.

Developer(+1)

Thank you friend! I was aiming for a chill, casual challenge, glad you liked it!

Simple graphics but a neat take on a runner game. I like the bubble splitting though I wish I could move while split a little or be able to influence how fast or slow I came back together or even some kind of speed boost to help mix things up a little. Overall though a fun time.

Developer

I Will deffinetly experiment with this ideas! Thank you for playing and for the inputs, Im happy you had a good time with it

Simple and fun! I like this type of chill gameplay. I've found that when you are at the bottom and you lose, it says try again but the button takes you to the next level anyway.

As a suggestion, the background could get darker and darker the deeper you go, you could even add glowing elements like bioluminescent fish.

Cool game, congrats!

Developer

Hey friend!

I Heard about the "try again" glitch from some other people too, Sorry about that, It Will soon be patched!

Those suggestions are great, I really feel like I can keep working to improve and eventually release a great mobile game.

Glad you enjoyed your time with the game and thanks for the suggestions;

Thank you!

A fun simple game. I like that you use star rating to make sure players try to get the orbs by using the separation mechanic.

Developer

thank you friend! Glad you liked It :)

Your take on the theme is perfect! And I enjoyed playing your game! But I did felt a bit that the difficulty went up too quickly. Overall I liked your game, I loved the art style and animation on the bubble! :)

Developer

thank you friend! I did have the same feeling about the difficulty spiking a bit early, I'll work to improve It. Glad you still enjoyed It though :)

Submitted(+1)

Really enjoy playing this game! It matches the theme perfectly, simple graphics but a lot of fun! Congrats

Developer

Thank you friend! Glad you liked it!

I feel like this game needs more speed and obstacles to be not symmetrical when in separated form, would be more fun to play! Overall very nice.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the suggestion friend! The symmetry does take some of the fun out of it, I could have done something with joints to make it different, sounds like a cool idea!

Looks, sounds, and FEELS like a casual game but the difficulty can really catch you off guard. I'm glad you can restart quickly and I enjoyed the challenge!

Developer(+1)

Thank you friend! I do enjoy my casual games a bit challenging indeed haha, glad you had a good time :)

I think this game will goanna be great in mobile. it's so satisfying when the bubbles separate and combine. I love also the sound effect. Great game! Good Job!

I got stuck in 3 level,  nice game

Developer(+1)

Thanks friend!!

A good idea for a casual game. It's quite difficult, I'm stuck on the fourth level. It would be good to add the ability to move while the balloon is separated, as well as some transition after losing a life, this way it seems to me that it immediately throws you into action again, but that's just my opinion. Nice work.

Developer

Hey friend, thanks for playing and for the feedback!

It sucks that you are stuck! Is there anything I can do to help you out? A good tip is to just ignore some of the harder pearls if you are stuck, you only need 8/12 to unlock the next level.

Regarding the quick death transition, I thought that making it really fast would help players not feel frustrated when they die, but now that you say that I realize that people might need some time to breath before a new attempt, thanks for that! I'll make a smoother/slower transition.

About moving while separated, I thought it would be kind of OP to give players that ability with the levels I had planned, but now that I look back on them I see that it would still work, and I could even do some harder ones, so I'll def experiment with it!

Thanks again for playing and for the feedback!

There was a lot to like about the game, but the killer for me was not being able to move while separated.  I understand that anticipating where you should be and when to split is the game, but being able to move both split bubbles and correct for a split location would have kept me playing.  The idea and the puzzle aspect were great!

Developer

Thank you for the input friend! I thought that giving players the ability to move while separated would have been a bit too overpowered, but now looking back at the levels I think it could really work (and I could even make some harder ones).

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I'll test the idea out and see if it works!
