I like this game… but it does not like me LoL! I just couldn’t get onto the beat consistently. But I feel that’s more a more a me problem than with the game. I liked the concept though and could see it being fun especially with different “songs” or beats to keep rhythm with.
Maybe add a visual aspect as well to help with the timing?
According to my calculations, your performance was..
Bad
Try again next time...
Lol just kidding that is what it said about me.
Honestly though nice simple clean graphics, nice theme and sounds. Very interesting musical like approach to a game haven't come across a similar one in this jam. Was quite fun to play even though i wasn't the best. Mainly sucked at the triplets unsure whether i heard the instructions wrong but could only get the first one in a triplet safely where it should go then even though i pushed the direction the others went down the middle.
So besides that though i really liked your look for the game and was a neat idea so definately keep it up!
Doing the 3 tall piles was impossible, and the tutorial did not seem to end.
My Rating:
Fun: X X X - -, Sound: X X X X X, Looks: X X X X X, Idea: X X X X X, Theme: X X X X X
What do you mean impossible? you just have to send the robots when the gates open, as for the tutorial not ending it's because you have to get it right enough times, and if you get it wrong you have to get it right more times, which I didn't set a bottom limit so you would end up in the tutorial for a very long time, sorry for that. I hope you have more fun in the fixed version!
If you try to send one robot in the stack, they all start to fall, and you can't send the rest. It's really odd.
The robots are suppose to fall, and you're normally able to send them, you released the key after sending the robot right? I'm not sure if holding down the key works. The robots in the tower also don't work properly if you send someone downwards due to a bug, but that's easy to avoid.
Maybe I was not doing it fast enough, but when the robot was halfway through, the padels would not go.
I'm got "bad", but I had a great time! I love how expressive the TV is and how the animations are in perfect sync with the tempo. That's an awesome level of polish for a 48 hours game, great job!
Getting big Rhythm Heaven vibes, great job! Seems a bit glitchy at times, though, as my inputs sometimes don't seem to work, or the robots break on their own.
It looks and sounds perfect. But there is no rythm indicator or anything to show when is the optimum time to send the bots. Also the robots combos are really hard. Overwise than that, great game.
brooo! What a game. If you dont deserve first idk who does. btw how long did it take for you to come up with that idea? I guess it must be a long time. Dude I am so jealous of you rn
Aw thank you! Funny enough this didn't take long at all to think of, likely an hour after the theme was announced. I simply started thinking of making some kind of sorting game because I really like the bob-omb minigame from Mario Bros DS, and then a game like this came to mind, inspired by Rythmn heaven which was icing on the cake!
Thnx dude. Can u pls help me how tou made the rythem system. Did you use timers or what
sorry for not replying earlier but this was very tricky to make. First of all the music has ot paly in a channel in order for you to be abke to check it’s offset, them I put it’s offset through a module, I would them make actions if the module value was below 0.1, the exact expression is mod(SoundChannelPlayingOffset(5),2), the number 2 is for how frequent I want this value to return a number smaller than 0.1, the smaller this value (2), the more frequent it is true.
Sorry if it’s confusing, it was very tricky to figure out
I guess we have a winner, good luck!
I am not sure what the red X in the top left corner means (edit: probably means I am bad, lol).
The game is very polished and satisfying
Hehe thank you! The red X is for perfection, it normally displays “Go for a Perfect!” Like in Rhythm Heaven, but if you mess up it goes away and is instead replaced by an X
I'm terrible at this but its a really cool concept! I think it would be something people would play as a bigger thing.
ok, i love the art style!
Really nice, I'm terrible at it but sometimes I feel perhaps I should not have been so terrible, that it missed some presses.
But I liked the narrative and the graphics and music. Good use of theme
i love it
I just felt that the timing of the music wasn't explicit, even though I felt like I was getting it right, the game detected it as out of time. Anyway, very fun!
Loved it! Sometimes 2 robots fall at once in the same spot while the doors are closed, and they forcibly break, but getting the hang of the beat was amazing! it's gonna be full stars from me, the graphics worked well together, and the song and theme were on point! good job!
Haha! This is truly brilliant. I can really see the Rhythm Heaven influence, but it nails the two-button theme so it feels pretty original all the same. Other than a couple of occasions two robots dropped simultaneously, and the fact that the combination pink and blue robots aren't covered in the little tutorial, I really can't fault it! (I got "Bad" in the end but it was still great fun.)
Thank you! The tutorial does mention double colored robots, they’re just not explicitly shown. And I guess I made the rating system too unforgivable :v I’ll make sure to change these at the end of the jam!
Ah! It's possible I clicked through too fast. Also "Bad" struck me as fair for the number I dropped - I remember Rhythm Heaven being if anything even more punishing.
This is the best I've played so far, wish you luck
