At first I thought "oh cool, this is dnd inspired." Then I realized "oh wow. This is dnd and undertale inspired". Love the concept!  I think the power scaling could be reduced a bit. I think 50 health for 1 enemy is probably good, but when 3 enemies have 50 health and my whole team combined has 30, it feels like I'm at a disadvantage. Even with a disadvantage, that's fine, but I felt like I wanted more ways to solve that problem than "reroll stats"

I also just want to let you know I think my rouge sprite bugged during the tutorial. It loaded the whole spritesheet instead of the specific sprite.

I played this previously too. I still like the idea. I would have liked to have the story told differently. Currently it is a bit of a lore dumb. Maybe some bits between fights.
I find the dodging phase a bit to easy. Especially when you repeat the same actions multiple times. I would like to see more randomness.

Great work. I love the new additions for this round! Any plans to continue further?

Developer(+1)

Absolutely! Even if I don't qualify for round 3, I will certainly try to make this into a full game.

Well I hope to see you qualify! The only constructive feedback I would say is the lack of a web build could hurt you- You might have to play every game and leave a comment to make up for that, or else you're definitely going to lose points for not having enough ratings. My game has a really long loading screen so I'm gonna do the same.

As for the storytelling my nit-pick would be that the intro story crawl is a bit too long, and I wish the story was told through gameplay somehow. But I get how challenging that is.

Hope to see this game grow in future with some more art and more weapons & heroes and stuff. The gameplay loop you have here is perfect it just needs a bit more refinement and the heroes could use a little bit more personality.

I'll see if I can get a WebGL build working, but in the meantime I'll be playing a lot of games. I appreciate the feedback! In an deal world I would've spent more time implementing the story, but I wanted a solid gameplay experience first. As for adding more things, which is something I do want to do, I also plan on giving what's there more unique properties. Most weapons will be given a special effect that has a chance to occur, Heroes will be given subclasses and more dynamic leveling upgrades, and more! I plan on taking in all your feedback to make something great. Thanks for playing!

Did you forget to enable 'play in browser'? (Asking since your last round entry had browser support)

Developer

No, Unity screwed me over, so the browser version doesn't work in the slightest. The download should be okay though.
