I would probably suggest to touch up the music because it gets a bit reppeditive over time and you could make defending a bit easier with adding more lives because it's really hard and make the infiltrating mode a bit harder but other then that the game is pretty fun and I like the cutscene and the lighting :)
Thanks! Music is hard in such a short amount of time but I bet I could of gone farther with it. And yes defend mode definetly needs some adjustments.
My solution is just find royalty free music, I'm also really bad at music
It needs a game over screen and the game is a bit too simple. But it could be a fun multiplayer game :D And I love the little cutscene at the start. Well done!
Yeah I thought it might change the feel of the game by doing that because I wanted this to be more like little minigames but it is sad when there is no reward. I think if I were to change that some sort of highscore system would be implemented. But thanks for the kind words!
Cool game, but the defense mode could've used a little work if you weren't on such a time crunch. The infiltration was fun though. Great job!
Thanks! Do you have any suggestions for defense I may be able to add them after the jam ends.
cool game, Nice intro cinematic, although the game is albeit simple, I think that's just a result of a jam game, and the creator did make 2 games
Yeah that's exactly the reason why, there was also a time constraint and I was worried making things too complex would take up too much time and I wouldn't be able to submit it. The game isn't intended to be a huge playthrough, just 2 small minigames to play. But yeah I plan on adding some more to it after the jam if I get the time to. Thanks for the feedback and kind words!
The two sides both make for fun little challenges. There's not much playtime here but I don't think that's a problem. Well done!
Thanks for commenting!
When I was first looking at the jam's theme, I was struggling trying to figure out how to not essentially make two different games in one as I didn't think I had enough time for that. I applaud you for doing exactly that and doing it well.
It was a lot of fun trying to sneak around the guard in infiltration mode. However, defending was a bit too easy. I just stayed right next to the golden cube and angled my view to catch all the white cubes coming at me before they got to it. I cheesed my score up to over a hundred doing this without moving. As @ccallahantow said, it would be a lot more fun if the golden cube moved or if the white cubes had a bit better AI than to just run straight at it.
Also, the opening cinematic and menu background were awesome!
Thank you for writing not only a really nice and thoughtful comment but one that can help me make my game better. As you have probably read from other comments I do plan on updating after the jam and if you have any other ideas please let me know. But thanks again I really appreciate comments like these!
The opening cutscene is a great touch, and the visuals are very appealing! I really liked infiltrate mode! Defend mode was fun too, but I think it would be better if the golden square moved around the map. Still, great game!
That is an amazing idea I think after the jam I am going to add that feature in. Thanks for commenting!
I mean first off, great design ya go going here, and I love it when games have an intro cutscene lol. Music's also great.
Only complaint I might have is the easiness the infiltrators have vs the defenders, as you can just move straight past them and they're not fast enough to catch up to you to stop you.
Though that's honestly a few balancing tweaks away from being good, it's got great promise
Thanks! Yeah I think once the jam ends I am going to try and make the experience a lot better in both gamemodes from all the feedback and ideas I have been getting. Thanks again for the compliments!
The defense should be improved! Maybe you can add powerups on the field which will shoot down or blast the enemies real quick! I loved the lopoly fishes in the cutscene at first!
Yeah I actually had the original idea to have some sort of turret you have to aim and shoot at the enemies but I was afraid I wouldn't have enough time to make it, after the jam I may look into that again. Thanks for commenting!
Yup! I know time is the only reason why! I was just suggesting those things for the future!
You have done a good job ! I think that sides are not equally difficult: defense is easy but infiltration is pretty hard. Anyway, good job !
Thank you, yeah I have had a lot of people including myself agreeing with the defense not being as good, if you have any suggestions please let me know I plan on updating it after the jam, I could make it something completely different if people want me to. But thanks again for this comment, it helps me make my games better, and feel appreciated!
really cool game! loved the gameplay although wish there were more of an indicator in what radius you'd get noticed by the defenders during in infiltration minigame and the defense minigame was too easy. still really impressive to do the 3d in 3 days and the opening cutscene was a nice touch
Thanks, I didn't really know how to put an enemies line of sight radius without looking messy but if you have any suggestions I would be happy to add them after the jam!
maybe circle that is their radius on the ground, maybe slightly transparent so it doesn't get in the way
Good idea! I could use a layer mask or something to only make it visible on the ground, I had the mindset of making a dome around the enemies and I thought it would look to messy. But yeah thanks for the idea I will most likely add it!
Hi,
a really good entry, especially impressive to do a 3d game in such a short amount of time. If you plan to continue developing it, I suggest inserting a small animation when winning or losing, and some sound reaction effect when capturing someone or being noticed (I really appreciated the exclamation mark! it is so cute :D).
Come to play also my game if you want, I really need feedback since this is my first Jam on itch,io :D
Thanks, yaeh I didn't think about things like that, I may update them after the jam. Thanks for the nice words!
Really liked the low poly, blocky artstyle, fits perfectly with the "geometriciness" of the jam.
The cinematics were really cool too, but I think they could have been improved by making the camera avoid the objects during them
Also I liked infiltration mode more than defense.
Overall, really cool! well done :)
Thank you! Yeah I probably should of tweaked the cinematics but you know how the unity animator is XD. Anyways thanks for the nice comment and for checking out my game!
Nice visuals!
The low-poly models are nice and polished. It was hard to infiltrate because of the camera angle. I have bumped into many trees. I found infiltration mode much more enjoyable than defending!
Good job!
Thank you! Yeah defending is not in its highest state right now but I may update it after the jam.
Really cool visuals! This must be one of the best attempts at a fully 3D game I've seen in such a short jam! It seemed like the only way to defend successfully was to sit right next to the gold cube with it inside my vision cone so nothing could touch it, but the infiltrating side was a good difficulty. The cutscene at the start was really cool!
Thank you, I didn't have much time and on the second day I spent at least 80% of the time trying to make this complicated AI but for some reason it just wouldn't work so the next day when I was working on defense I tried to keep it as simple as I could and it definetly is still in a prototype phase but is all I could really do without spending the entire day trying to figure out another system. But when the game jam ends I may update some things. But yeah thanks for all the kind words and constructive criticism it means a lot.
The level is really nice! The implementation of pick a side was well done, and made for great replayability.
Thank you! The funny thing is I had made the entire map and movement system the first day but still had no idea what the game would be about, but then I just had an idea for a stealth/action game and tried to make it work.
To be honest! what I like is your art and idea! Cinematic attracts me the most! keep it up and never give up!
Thank you! Yeah I realized my favorite part of making games was usually some story or cutscene so I wanted to focus on that for this game.
Nice Game!
Great job
Thanks :D
3D? Very nice! The cinematic at the beginning was cool to watch as well! Great job :)
Thank you! I had a lot of fun making it!
Simply beautiful!!!
Thank you that means so much!
