Really fun game! Although missing the "only one" theme a bit, only that there is only 1 night.

Developer

Thanks for playing and it is that you can only hold 1 item at a time (boombox or chainsaw). It wasn't very clear though

Submitted

Ok that's obvious now! Can't believe I didn't see that.

Really fun game,  it looks  really solid and with some variation in enemy type it will be really goo!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

Fantastic art and fun mechanics. Obviously a stand out game in this jam. Great job!

Thank you for your comment! Really appreciate it!

Very nice graphics, it always amaze me what can people do in just 2 days! :O
The gameplay is interesting too, but I don't understand why would anyone go to a zombie forest with a boom box... :D

(+1)

Haha good point. The idea was that he has been surviving out there by himself for a long time in a zombie infested world! Then he hears a mysterious transmission and your job is to find the source! We just didn't have enough time to build a decent intro! There was three people in our team and only one works in the game industry.

It's fun. I would like to be able to make my own way in the wood.

A cool high energy action game!  Great job on the amazing are and animations!  The boombox and chainsaw was a funny idea.  Super cool entry! Please check out my entry if you have time~ good day!

Thank you for your comment! I will be sure to check out your entry before the deadline!

This game looks really nice and polished! But my only problem is the lack of things you can do in it, it would be really cool if there was a timer or power ups, or you had to protect someone from the zombies, other then that, a very visually appealing game! Great job, I would love to see this further developed!

If you haven't yet, I would really appreciate it if you check out our game too!

Thank you, we plan to take this forward. We have already added a few bits and sorted several bugs based on feedback! We had plans for secrets and all sorts that had to be cut due to the deadline.

I like this game but I would like better if it had more depth. I enjoyed the decisions I had to make while playing (Do I continue a little bit further or stop a little just to be safe? ) because your main mechanic is well implemented. The visuals are also outstanding!

In conclusion, I think you did a good job making this in only 48hours! I would love if you checked my game too, if you haven't already!

I liked this, seen a few games similiar to it but at the end of my playthrough a bunch (like 10) zombies spawned exactly where I was and I stood no chance at all.

Any chance you could alter the spawn and make them further away, could also add some powerups and such to vary up the gameplay.

I only suggest these things because you said you wanted to upload a fix for your bug after the jam, figured you might want to continue working on this project.

It has some solid artwork i'll give you that but since we were told to judge on design i'm focusing on that for this jam :P

Regardless nice product you have here could be a nice browser game if you finish it up a bit.

Hey thanks for playing. The zombie rush at the end was intentional, although.. they weren't supposed to spawn on you! Sorry about that! Definitely something we could fix going forward.

Love the ideas you suggested and a lot we actually already talked about during development. Once we get the bugs out the way and possibly tweak the level design, we will definitely have a conversation about what to do with this project.

Neat graphic but i wish more depth in gameplay part. Weapons, secret, enemy type etc etc.

Thanks for playing! These are actually all things we discussed during development! Mostly they were left out due to the time constraint. We actually made twice as much level and moved the finish line to just after the bridge because we didn't want people getting bored!

Good art design. There is potential in the main mechanic :)

Hey there! That's an exelent you got there! very original indeed, but the gameplay wasn't as dynamic and energetic as I hoped it would. And, contrary to my belief, it was pretty simple to play. The art was very polished (Good job!), the music fit very well. Great with this game!

Would love if you could check mine out too! Or not, no pressure ;)

Developer

Yeah unfortunately having the character locked to those 4 axis makes it feel pretty clunky and less dynamic. Thanks for the feedback. I have added your game to my list of games to play this weekend!

Sam, I challenge you to complete this game if you haven't already!

Well, it's a funny game with an odd character and many many zombies. I enjoyed ripping off zombies, however, the biggest problem is that there's no indicator of current HP and any feedback of getting damage.

Developer(+1)

Originally we planned to have it one hit kill hence no HP bar but it felt unfair. We changed it pretty late on and ran out of time. We will add that in the next version though. Thanks for the feedback

This was really fun to play. I enjoyed being so over powered, and the main gameplay loop was satisfying. Awesome game!

AMAZING graphics and polish, only complaint was that I hit a dead end quickly and had to turn around, and that was frustrating. Super fun concept, though! I'd also appreciate it if you could rate mine, too! :) Good luck!

Developer

Hi thanks for taking the time to play. I have downloaded the game and will play when I have the time. One of the main things we need to improve is user feedback on where to go.

Submitted(+2)

Quickly repetitive. The design made it all, was really nice.

Submitted(+2)

Many zombie, go on me =) nice game

Please try our too:https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/461656

Have downloaded the game and will rate when I have time. Thanks for rating ours

The sound effects were amazing. The sound of the chainsaw reminds me of the recent DOOM remake :D. Rip and Tear indeed.......

I felt that it got a little repetitive later in the game, but still it was good fun.

Submitted(+2)

Really cool idea! I'm impressed you were able to make that polished of a game in just 48 hours! I enjoyed playing it, but my main critique is that it's pretty easy to get lost. I followed the boombox signals and tried to look through an area up top for about 5 minutes, then learned I had to go down and around (the opposite of where the boombox directed me) to continue. :/ Otherwise, I really enjoyed the game!

Developer(+1)

Hi thanks for playing. Yeah I think we really needed to guide the player or at least given reason to explore the map more. Thanks for the feedback!

Submitted(+2)

Pretty cool! I feel like there could have been more of a consequence for putting down the boombox, it never felt too limiting being only able to use one item at a time. Still really fun though, and loads of juice!

Developer

Thanks for playing the game! Yeah agree with there being more consequence. Have a few small fixes that will help that will be implemented as soon as the vote is finished
