Great game, could honestly see myself sinking some time into it on a train or something as a mobile title, however, I don't really believe it matches the theme very well. The only time I can really see the "Only One" theme shining through is in the split second before you lose, which doesn't seem particularly relevant.
Stylistically I really enjoyed the visuals and audio, I feel like it really matched what you were going for and should be commended on that. The gameplay was solid and a little stressful (which is a good thing) and really causes you to keep up a hectic fast pace.
Sidenote: I had trouble running it on my pc. The web version (chrome) lagged a lot to the point of it being unplayable, and the downloaded version functioned perfectly fine, but the UI constantly hovered in the middle of the screen (however it was not distracting to the point of believing it was an intentional choice at first).
Great submission, would support a full release.
I like the juice and look of the game. I enjoyed it, felt fun to play :)
Nice work. Similar to another commenter, I originally thought I was supposed to kill all of my guys except one haha. The FX are incredibly juicy; the freeze-frame/camera shake upon picking up one of the blue orbs is very satisfying.
I also really like the core feedback loop if that makes sense. When you get hit, it's bad because you lost some of your guys, but it's also good because now you're more difficult to hit (you have fewer guys to manage). It's a nice dynamic-difficulty, where the game gets a little more manageable if you're struggling and get slaughtered early on. Great job!
Thanks friend! But yes! It's awesome that you're seeing some of the depth that came out of the core mechanics! :D
Not bad! the Aesthetic of the "DASH" button and environments were nice, and the concept was good. I just wish the enemies/projectiles didn't come out in such a grid-like pattern, it got pretty easy once you figured that out.
Yeah it was one of those things I wanted to address but ran out of time. >.<
Completely understand, time was one of the biggest factors in everyone's game development.
Nice aesthetics and original design. It gets much easier if you just move them around a column, managed to get score of about 1800 and could have done more.
Congrats!
I was a little disoriented at first, but had a lot of fun once I figured out what I was supposed to do. Love the flocking behavior!
After reading the description, I thought I needed to kill them all except one but oh boy, I was sooo wrong. The game is really fun, I kept playing till I got 315. The difficulty level is really well tuned and the visual effects are juicy. Greatly done.
Neat game! Simple idea, well executed. Would've loved it if the camera lead ahead of my movement a bit, as when I was running in a direction, I couldn't see what I was about to run into sometimes :(
Audio is really nice too :)
It's a nice little game! The feeling of controlling multiple characters at one is pretty great and I really liked the way the level is to divide them. Great work!
Pretty unique idea. Very good game!
Mixed feelings about this one, visuals and sounds are great, but I did not really needed to use its main mechanic most of the time.
Nice project!
Yeah I would have liked to tune things a little more to get stuff like this right. But glad you liked the project all the same. :) Thanks for playing and commenting! :D
Cool game with smooth controls, the followers thing is a bit confusing at first though
but overall it really fits the theme of "Only One" and i like the minimalist aestetic it fits quite well with the sound design you have , and i dig the ominous echo-ey voice upon game over :p
One little thing just so you know, some times when too much followers crash into a red cube the game lags a bit and the sound bugs out for a bit, not sure if it's a bug or a problem on my end, i played on the WebGL version
Regardless congrats on your entry ! :)
The browser version didn't work for me for some reason... I played the downloaded version though. The game looks really good, it's got a very striking aesthetic to it. I understood what my goal was only when I died, I thought I had to kill the black squares. The description and title made me think that. At least from then on I played it with no problems. I wish the black square things were faster, but that's it. Good game!
Really fun game! I like it!
So pretty, so nice! Congratulations for the game.
Oh, I found a bug! If you get too close to the left wall for too long you can leave the area and get infinite points and never die.
SHHH tell none! ;)
For real, the game looks great! Super fun ❤️
This game reminds me my vacation in Rome. It felt exactly like that, when I tried to cross the road... :D
My record is 1004, is it considered good? :D
Pretty fun little game, kind of confusing at the start, but I was able to figure it out pretty quickly. Getting more points the more followers you have would be cool, maybe that is the case but if it is it wasn't very noticeable. The sound design was good for the most part and the game didn't feel unfair.
Overall great job!
This is fun! Clever idea
Simple and efficient, it's very fun !
The controls feel really good and I liked the idea, good job!
