Only 1 Dimension. None of that fancy verticality and depth stuff.

Stylish. Really fun too! If you made the player move automatically you could have made a one button game too! Nice work!

Developer

Thank you.

I though about making it a one button game. But I already done one and this time I wanted the player to have real control.

In one button games generally you loose measure, dexterity, coordination and precision skills. It would basically leave only perception, timing, risk taking and reflexes for my game. That's a bit underwhelming I think.

Submitted

That's true enough! I think you made the right call.

Clean and solid entry, and also very challenging at later levels, a bit to challenging for me ;D But nevertheless, well done!

Submitted

Nice to see a similar approach to the theme! Super smooth as well. Great job!

Submitted

Very clean. I also did a 1D puzzle game, but you did a good job at keeping it dead simple. Well done.

I love the interpretation of the theme. Not difficult game with a simple mechanic. Top notch art.

I love very much the gameplay and the difficulty curve but the last level is very difficult !

Submitted

I'm impressed at how much fun you managed to squeeze from only one dimension! Amazingly fun (and hard) game!

Developer

Thanks a lot ! I have so many more ideas I would like to implement, I could honestly add like 50 levels more haha.

Submitted

This was my first idea, but I couldn't figure how I would work with only one dimension. Glad someone smarter than me could work it out - and I love the result.

Developer

Believe me, I'm not so smart lol. I checked your game and it was a nice little text adventure ! "pat yourself on the back" x)

Interesting game, got stuck on the final level until i decided to just go for it and flew through while tapping spacebar and it got me through no problem.

Must have managed to time the presses very well :D

Developer

You are probably the first one to achieved that. Myself and a friend could not do it. GG

Awesome, I know it was just luck and no skill was involved though.

Submitted

You really made it! Cool idea with only 1 dimension game.

Submitted

Really good submission. Like the style and the idea : )

I like how it fits theme and like gameplay too, It's a good jam game and have potential for future.

Submitted

Nice one, although it seemed a bit too hard for me) Props for sticking with the Jam's theme though!

Your game look a lot like mine! (https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/461964) I feel like it can use more gameplay elements;

Very nice for how minimalist it is. I think if you included a visible grid (or rather tick marks), it would be easier to interpret the enemy movement patterns, and where the safe spots are. That in turn could lead to the enemies having more complex cycles, and possibly other advanced mechanics.

Submitted

Fun game! Has a nice progression of difficulty. The visual design of it all is nice.

I actually kinda liked the little discovery, but I feel like you can push it further in some way. Maybe more than just switching colors and running from purple.
