Really liked the idea.
I would like if it were a little faster
Also loved the music! so much peace
Pretty Cute XD
Had really fun playing this super cute game :P
Super cute game and the music really fits. Really like the whole card idea, but the whole game felta bit slow. Either way great work!
Yeah, if we had more time for playtesting I'm sure that would've been one of the first things we'd have fixed :p
But we're glad you liked it and thank you so much for playing our game ChickenBarbeque!♥~
This game is very endearing and cute with the art and the music. Maybe it could've been made even better with quirky sound effects e.g. a "PCHOOO!" for the rocket or something? In general, sound effects and animations could have made the cards more satisfying to use.
Speaking of which I like how this game uses the turn-based card mechanic, and combined lovely music and peaceful sky background, it makes this game a relaxing, fun experience.
Yeah, we might've gotten a bit too ambitious for 2 days and missed out on the sound effects and properly implementing the animations. But we're so happy that you enjoyed our game and the experience it offers ♥~ So we thank you so much for playing our game ♥!
And the music really is lovely and fitting isn't it? ^_~
Nice game ! art was so cute and the music so good ! maybe the card and turn system need a little improvement but in the end was Fun :D keep it up !-Ivory-
Yeah, we ran a bit short on time for playtesting, but I think the core mechanics certainly worked! We're glad to hear you enjoyed it ♥~
Have a wonderful day and thank you for playing our game!
I quite liked this, although I think it could do with either moving faster or having more stuff happen. The event turn hardly ever did anything noticeable, and Ginny's turn seemed to always be the same. I've listed a couple of bugs I spotted as well:
Nitpicks aside, I think this concept is really fun and has good potential. The presentation is nice as well, even though I wasn't aware of the first game. Well done!
Hey there MsJofish,
Thank you for listing the bugs you've found. That always helps a lot ♥~ The Controls page wasn't as much a bug as we just... didn't quite get to making it. And if you're ever interested in checking the first Gin and Waffles, if you go to the gamepage there's a link in the description. Or of course check our gamepage! ^-^
We're glad you enjoyed the game, and thank you for playing ♥
GINNY HAS MADE IT TO THE WAFFLES!
Decent amount of strategy involved in this game in when to use certain cards and what sort of cards you should keep handy for certain circumstances. Also can't hold onto them for too long because they'll end up clogging your hand.
I do wish that the game went by a bit faster though since it can get tedious waiting for the game to cycle through every turn waiting for things to happen and only move forward a single square at a time without items.
I also ran into the bug that made me fall through the floor into the river on my first run so on the next one I made sure to bring big rockets to jump every river gap early to not accidentally die to the bug again :(
Determination Intensifies!!!~
Congrats on the victory, we know it must've been frustrating with the water tile being mixed with the one next to it. But you stuck in there like a Champ and conquered! And you know what, as devs even knowing the bugs in there.. that brings a smile to our face ♥~ Thank you so much Kreekakon, it's always great to see an old face.
Thank you so much for playing, and look forward to Gin & Waffles 3 ! (Someday, maybe?)
I like the approach to the theme!
The art is very cute, and i love card based games!
Great game, nice job! :)
Ahww, thankyou so much Jega! I'm glad you enjoyed it. We certainly tried our best to be creative again this year !
Thank you for playing ♥~
Cool idea, fun gameplay, nice graphics! One issue I found with the game is that sometimes my character drowned a tile before reaching the water and sometimes just zoomed across it without remembering I actually used the Extinguisher card. Other than that, very fun!
We're so sorry about drowning through the land, we'd love to say that bug was "Out of our Control" sadly. And the water/tile before it is sadly a bug we didn't get to fix in time. It has little do with the extinguisher since we didn't do much of the alternate effects of the cards due to time constraints. We're glad you enjoyed the game though !
And thank you so much for playing ♥~ (Great Avi too btw!)
Interesting card mechanic, fits the style of the game really well. It would be interesting if there was a way to manage your hand more (draw more cards, trade in unwanted ones etc.) Nice game overall!
Oooh, that certainly sounds like a fun idea. A way to burn some cards, trade unwanted.
It's currently a bit slow and you have a lot of "downtime" before hitting obstacles, which should leave you with enough space to do some of that. But for a more distilled fun version that'll definitely be a thing we'll keep in mind. Thanks for playing our game, and the valuable feedback ♥~
HOLY HELL, I was just randomly scrolling through game jam entries and I suddenly see a Gin and Waffles sequel! Blast from the past from 2 years ago!
I'm busy right now but I'll leave another comment when I get around to playing this which I will do for absolute sure.
Fuckyeah! Always great to see those who remember the first! ^_^~♥
I can't wait to see what you think of how we took Ginny's control away this time :D
So cute ^^ the art and music fit well
It went a little slowly but it was fun :)
Good job!
Mmhm, further tweaks would definitely keep in mind getting it a bit more action packed so you don't feel the downtime as much ^_~
Thank you for playing our game, and leaving valuable feedback ♥~
The art is nice and I love llamas :) It could be faster.
Who doesn't love a llama, or even fluffier. Alpaca's! And paired with waffles? Win win right?! ♥
So thank you so much for playing our game ♥~
This is a very cute game, it was not what I expected
Diverting expectations in a good way with lots of creativity is what we're here for ♥~
A bit slow (that's ok).
Sometimes tiles where water instead of land?!?
Definitly creative!
Yeah, there's definitely a few bugs here and there. But hey, I always say they show ambition. The water/land bug might be the worst one though sadly, so sorry if you died near the end because of it!~ Thanks for playing our game
Died twice because of it xD
Rocket OP
Thank you for playing our game ^-^~♥
Rocket Powered Battle Llama's as a sequel? Maybe? :P
It may be a bit slow but for the type of game it is I think it works and it is a very original idea with a funny story.
With a bit more content and such I'm sure the speed might've made a bit more sense. We might've planned a bit too far ahead.
But hey, bugs show ambition right? ^_~ And yes, thank our Faerie of the Plum programmer for writing our sequel plot ♥~
Cool idea!
The music is lovely and cute sheep/lama?!
There might be to many tiles that do nothing, i felt like i spent a lot of time passing turns waiting for something to happen.
Yeah, sadly didn't have too much time for playtesting again. It is a bit slow, but the idea was a lot of fun ^_^~
Ginny is an Alpaca by the way ♥
Ah an Alpaca, that makes sense!
Yeah the time crunch don't allow for a lot of testing.
I think with some tuning there is something really fun there since the idea is really cool!
You aced the story, sound, art and cuteness factor! In terms of gameplay, I got frustrated when I fell down after hitting the tile before some water so I rated fun a little bit lower :|
Yeah, we may have needed a bit more playtesting, it is a tad slow. And of course there's a few bugs sadly.
But I think the gameplay certainly has a lot of originality going on, thank you so much for your comment ♥
