How does your game fit the theme?
The main mechanic of the game is to give away one of your movement controls to open doors and solve puzzles this way. Also there are a lot of things in the "narrative" that are connected to control

Really cool puzzle game. Our games are quite similar  but  you went exactly the opposite way compared to me in terms of how you "store" control. In my case, I transfer control. In your case, you give it completely but you can retrieve it anytime.  I also like how the portals are joined/shared.

The main complaint I have is that the movement really slows down the game. Otherwise great job!

Thank you very much for your comment!
I will play your game ASAP, love to see different take on simmilar ideas.
Also, yeah you're in the vast majority of people who didn't really enjoy the movement :D I already took note of that! Guess that was my biggest mistake this jam.

Clever mechanics and puzzle design. The artstyle comes together nicely aswell.
Solid submission fMooNek!

Thank you very much Federico!

I really liked that the little key receptacles are like portals, and you can retrieve them from wherever.

I also wanna know where the story was going, it looked like you had a cool, experiment and otherworldly thing going on.

The chromatic abberation, off tilt camera gave a really good and consistent aesthetic.

The puzzles were also really good!

I do wish that I could hold WASD and not have to tap it each time.

Overall, great!

Developer

First of all if somebody enjoyed my game - please check out Yellow's submission too!

Now to the point:

Movement system is made this way because a) it was quicker to code and b) I had different idea at first for which it was designed and there was not enough time to redo it completly.

In defense of the system - I think precise movement prevents from frustration when you go too Far without a way of going back. But if I will ever improve the game I'll try to make it possible to switch between "Tap to move" and "free roam" so everyone will be able to choose what suits them.

Thanks for your comment, glad you liked it.

Interesting concept! It was a nice puzzler. An improovement would be to be able to hold "WASD" in a direction to move instead of needing to press each tile. I liked it

Developer

Thanks for your comment!
For my/the movement defense: I created the movement before changing the concept of the game, and I would not have enough time to recode everything, the levels are quite small and have a lot of turns in the later part so it should not be a big problem.
If I will ever improve and realese this game I will make it possible to choose between two movement styles :)

Developer

Hey, for everyone downloading the game! I know it can be a little bit confusing. But the end of the game is when you reach "the bridge". It was an error on my part that there is no ending message there. If you need more informations, feel free to ask and also look at the game page, there are a lot of things explained!

I could not for the life of me figure out the solution to what I believe if the fourth room (The one with the red block that needs to be activated first, and then the two blue blocks), but other than that this game is spectacular!

Developer

Did you get the solution eventually? If not I can help with it, because there are a few more puzzles after that.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for your comment!

visually really consistent and the audio ambiance sets a good tone. i like the concept and the levels are ordered well in increasing difficulty.

my largest issue was that i wasn't certain when i had reached the end. the room shown in the preview image is where i ended up and i think that was the ending of the game? the only suggestion i would have for game mechanics is to display the key you dropped on the panel itself (in case people forget what key they left where).

otherwise encountered no bugs and found the solution to every level after a decent bit of thought! nice work

Developer

Yes! There should be an ending message on the bridge, but sadly I didn't notice small bug in code until some minutes after deadline.
I had the "show where you left the key" feature listed on "to add if I will have time" but had to drop it.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the comment.

I'm not sure if I finished it or not, but it was great

Developer(+1)

I updated information on the site of the game. If you reached "the bridge" it is the end. Sadly last minute upload didn't contain the ending message yet :P
Glad you like it!

I really like the idea!
In my opinion, the chromatic aberration is a bit too strong, and generally, I wish that the game was more clear. Sometimes things are hard to see

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your opinion!
I experimented with different settings, and I agree sometimes it's not as clear as it should be. I guess my eyes just got used to chromatic aberration and I wasn't objective in my assessment.
