How does your game fit the theme?
The main mechanic of the game is to give away one of your movement controls to open doors and solve puzzles this way. Also there are a lot of things in the "narrative" that are connected to control

Nice puzzle game. A little bit hard to know in which direction the character will go when a key is pressed, and the character felt a tad bit too slow (but that's according to my taste of course). Congrats!
fun game with a great concept and a great execution
I know it says you used pre-existing audio and visuals, but I gotta say: the choices you made for this were spot-on. The neon lighting combined with the ocean background music lends the game some super surreal vibes. The aesthetics combined with the solid puzzle design made this a fun submission to play, real nice work!
Well to be fair, the most of the "pre-existing graphics" are just shapes that came with the engine and 3 low-poly models from an asset pack, and some of the audio are my mixes of different pre-existing tracks, but I wanted to be clear about it in the submission!
Very glad that you enjoyed it :) If you like the music that was used check out the band The Pangolins, their song "Pawns at Sea" is what I used as the second music track in this game.
Thank you for your comment!
Also, I saw your game somewhere in "best jam games" list and wanted to check it out, but I forgot about doing it. Great that you found mine and commented :D
Definitely one of my favorite games I've played from this jam! I would absolutely play a full version of this, love the mechanic. Aesthetically very enjoyable as well! You've already got the feedback about the movement, even if you stay with the one press equals one square, if it was just faster I think it would be fine. Really good job!
Great to read that it's one of your favs! Thank you for playing and commenting!
Very interesting puzzle game with some challanging puzzles where you have to deconstruct them in an interesting way to find the solution. It also feels like everytime you try something you figure something out (very nice). It would be really nice to have an "undo" so that you don't have to reset everytime you figure what you've done wrong.
Unclear if I got to the last stage (the empty room with the moving light), it feels like I'm missing something.
The controls could also be a bit faster so every move doesn't feel so heavy.
Very nice game and concept!
Not every game managed to have undo like Metro Vision :D
Jokes aside, thank you for your feedback, and yea, the empty room is where the game should end, but I noticed that the end screen is missing after the deadline :(
Thanks for playing :)
Very unique take on the theme that created a lot of challenging puzzles! The visuals and narrative is probably top for the puzzle games in this jam, well done!
Very glad to read that :)
Thank you very much!
Great game ! A good take on the “sacrifice a control to progress” concept. The puzzles were interesting and well-balanced, I loved every second of it ^^
Really glad to see you enjoyed it!
Thanks fot the comment.
Really cool aesthetic, clever puzzle game and an interesting bit of story. The camera angle is really cool, but the movement can be a bit improved on, could be a bit more fluid or let you go further if the button is still pressed :) Otherwise, great game, keep it up and hope to see more !
Thank you very much!
A really clever idea for a puzzle game. It's challenging and fun at the same time, and the visuals are also top notch. Well done!
Thank you for the kind words!
We really enjoyed this game! The concept is really interesting and can create some interesting puzzles. The visuals really fit the rather strange aesthetics of the game and the underlying story is a nice finishing touch. Well done!
Thank you very much!
I am blown away. This is by far the best game I've played in this jam. Everything about it is just spot on.
Amazing job. Keep on making awesome stuff!
Thank you very much, I'm really thinking about contiuing this idea!
Although to be fair puzzle isn't my fav genre but making a hack and slash for the jam didn't seem like an option :D
You really surprised me with this game. I was just about to quit to check some of the the other submmissions too but then the story just picked the pace up and got really interesting. Super cool concept, I'd love to play more of this if you decide to expand it.
Glad to hear you sticked with the game! I tried to pace the game right, but with the time restraints I wasn't sure if it will be good.
Thank you for the comment. There is increasing probability that I will contiunue this project based on the feedback it got :).
What happens after the call? Play to find out.
Thank you very much!

A really fun game with interesting and challenging puzzles. The visuals are some of the best I've seen in the jam and think this game has a lot of potential to be a hit, especially on mobile devices. Great effort, deserves way more ratings than it currently has.
Thank you very much! That's great to hear from developer of one of my favourite games from the jam :)
I loved these puzzle mechanics, and the story you had outlined seems like it has a lot of potential! I wish I could hold down keys instead of continuously pressing them, even if there was just a little buffer before the character moved again (since movement control is such a big part of the puzzley aspect and everything has to be just right) but even with that really minor thing, I still really enjoyed this game and playing through these levels! This was really clever, good work.
I know about the movement! I'm sorry!
The movement system was made on friday right after the theme was announced and was made with a half-turn based puzzle game. I couldn't really sleep well, because I was thinking that the idea was trash, when I woke on saturday up I started looking for some inspirations and came up with the main mechanic that is now in the game. Movement had to stay, because there was not a lot of time, but I already know that it's the biggest issue.
Thank you for kind words :) I'm very glad you liked the story elements!
Oh yeah, and by no means did it detract from the puzzle experience, either. This was a good game!
Wow, what an amazing game and concept! This will definitely be showcased in Mark's video. I read some comments and I want to say these 3 things to complement.
I think the movement is fine honestly, it reminded me of that Twilight Princess master sword puzzle and I believe is well in place for this puzzle game. But I do believe that the rooms could be switched around to have a more balanced difficulty. I got stuck on the same level that the other commenter said (the green room with the telephone) because I didn't realize you could retrieve the button on a different portal with the same color until I did it by accident (This could be solved with the solution someone else said of painting the letter on top of the pad). Also, I found a little bug: when I tried re-starting the room immediately after placing a letter on a pad, I re-started the level but I didn't get back the letter that I had lost in the game before. It wasn't a big deal though because I just re-started the game again and everything was fine, but I thought I'll let you know anyway in case you decide to keep developing this game (which I really think you should!).
All in all its a fantastic game with a fantastic idea and well designed puzzles. Congrats!
Hey, thank you very much for your comment. I would love to be showcased in GMTK video, but the competition is just packed with great games, so that won't be easy. But I am very greatful that you think so highly about my game.
I'm really glad you didn't have problems with the movement system :)
About difficulty balance I sadly didn't have anyone else playtest the game before I submitted it. The main idea is that levels from start to green telephone are tutorial, and later levels are the true game. Sadly again, I didn't really menage to keep it that way I think, because the level right after green phone is easier and only introduces yellow gate (which to be fair is green in the level's lighting xd). Green Telephone level should teach you about getting the controls back, but I guess from the comments it didn't do it's job :D The level that is supposed to teach you that same color platforms share inputs is the purple "KNOCK KNOCK" room.
I'm starting to think really seriously about expanding the game further I have a lot of ideas that didn't make it to the submission build, and also now I'm getting a lot of great feedback of what I could change/implement. Accismus's code however is a complete mess, for example the game is hardcoded for the 5x5 rooms right now, soo... I would probbably start from scratch if I will decide to take the idea further. I am also thinking about creating a walkthrough for everyone who can't pass the levels right now, and maybe a devlog on itch page so I can explain some of my choices and the narrative (which right now is really open to interpretation :D).
Thank you very much once again for the feedback and kind words. Also about the bug could you tell me in what room it happened? I will note that as something to check.
dude the art style is Amazing! well done puzzles and overall very fun! rated! please check out my game too :D
I already played your game, maybe I didn't comment because I played about 40 games yesterday but will try to give some feedback soon :)
Thanks for feedback :)
This game makes me go YES! Love the graphics!
This comment makes me go YES! Love the wording!
Wow this is top!
The puzzles are well made, the story is cool and the visuals are slick!
your game is a stand out for me.
A few things, the movment are a bit slow and the colors are not colorblind friendly.
Good Game, congratulation!
That's so great and heartwarming to read!
Colorblindness can be an huge issue in this game, I know that. I wanted to make color blind mode where the blocks would have first letter of their color on them, but the time was running out so fast for me :(. About movement! I already noted that it is the biggest issue, and I will work on it after the jam :D
I'm taking a lot of notes based on everyone's feedback so hope the idea can go further after the jam is finished.
Thank you very kindly for your comment!
Cool idea and well made puzzles.
Thank you very much :)
