This is so much fun to play I would like this game to be featured on the channel

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much. This comment made my day. :)

With a title liked that you caught my eye, this was a very fun game... Well done

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much. For the first time in my game jam history, I have kept with the same name from the beginning. :)

Submitted(+1)

Ah I see by the name of your game that you are a man of culture as well :D ! Nice simple and cute game :) !

Developer(+1)

Yes. Culture is the most important trait to have. :D  Thanks for the feedback. :)

Submitted

the most thing i liked about your game is the name itself lol, overall and amazing game

Developer

hahahaha thanks Anurag. Yes the name was one of the most driving force for me to finish and submit the game. :D

This was really fun! I wish the enemies were a bit more aggressive somehow - I had to chase them down and run into them myself to see what the control swapping was like. But really fun and I really enjoyed the music!

Developer(+1)

The earlier version that I had, had aggressive enemies in terms of their speed and spawn interval but I felt that it was super difficult and annoying so tuned them down a bit. This is why game testing during development is so important. Thanks for your feedback. :) Glad you enjoyed it.

Yeah, that makes sense. It would be fun to even see some sort of AI where the enemies start moving closer to  you if you get in range, kinda like a magnet. That might make collision a little more likely. Either way, great job and we'd love your feedback on our game as well! SpaceBus

The music was so dang catchy! It wasn't very challenging and the enemies didn't come close to hitting me, which isn't a problem, but it kinda undermines the swapping controls bit. Still, it was fun nonetheless!

Developer

Thank you so much. :) The game needs balancing true.

Submitted

A lot of fun, with a challenging and interesting game mechanic. Nice job! :)

Thank you so much. :)

Nice Game, but Collisions go Brrrrrrrr...

Developer

HAHAHAHAHAHA. Yes that could be the name too. I was just highly inspired by the current scenario of dankmemes subreddit for the name of the game. :P

Great take on the theme. Mushrooms were fun to find since they spawned in random locations each game across the map.  Unlike some of the others I didn't feel annoyed since only the keys on the same axis were swapping in my first game. However when I played it a second time, I understood what they were talking about. The confusing part was that I would go forward with D and rotate with S. But I think the confusing controls would really balance out in local multiplayer, the intended way of playing leading to a hectic yet enjoyable experience.

Developer

Yes. That was the ultimate goal. When two people are annoyed by a competitive game together, it comes out to be a real nice local multiplayer session and that was the intention for me with this.  Actually the concept that I had in mind was that red animals will rotate your key controls clockwise and blue ones would do anti-clockwise so once you figure this out, instead of getting hit by the red animal thrice again to get back to normal, you can find the path of a blue animal and get hit by that once and save some time in the local multiplayer game. Just an added optional strategy. But I think there is a bug in the collision where it rotates twice and hence you get inverse controls on the same axis. That technically should have happened after two collisions.

Submitted

Not a bad concept! It took a while to get used to but in the end I got the hang of it.  I ended up getting hit a lot on purpose to get the controls i was comfortable with. May be adding a health element will fix that. Good job for making this in 48hrs!

Developer

What you did was a FOOS strategy I left for the players to figure out, understand and feel good about it. Your comment just made my strategy a success. The reason why I didn't add any health factors was because I though this one mechanic in itself is pretty annoying and might take time to get used to so adding another layer of difficulty will just make the game unplayable for a lot of players.

Nice game and it's a good view on changing the controls mechanic. I did read some comments before playing, so I was prepared.

I really enjoyed the colorful visual style, cheerful vibes and chaotic movement of enemies. Changing controls after hit wasn't annoying for me at all. It's opposite actually. I really tried to avoid enemies and get those mashrooms :) I just wished game was a tiny bit faster, so there'better feeling of flow and more levels.

Still it's a good game that really fits the jam theme "Out of Control". Great Job!

P.S. You can also play game we submitted https://timon-herzog.itch.io/fractured-sky

I did thought of adding some more levels but I had less time.  Since I was the only person developing this and nobody around me plays games, I couldn't get the play testing done for the overall speed of the game. I iterated over it a couple of times and ended up having the one which felt comfortably challenging to me as a player. Thank you such good response, this really cheers me up and provides the best dopamine hit one can get. :)

I am going to play your game now. :D

I didn't read the description first, so I was trying to avoid animals, therefore it was not enjoyable for me. Even after I knew the main mechanic of the game, it was still not fun for me, because hitting the animal didn't make my life any significantly harder. Anyway, I respect the work you put into this game.

Developer

Thanks for the honest feedback. :)

Submitted

I love the mechanic! It's a great way of punishing the player for getting hit without making them lose lives/progress

Developer(+1)

I thought it will be difficult for the players to understand but now I feel it wasn't that bad. :) Thanks for taking the time out to play my game.

Submitted

Great idea of changing control keys when you get hit!

Developer

Glad that you enjoyed the game. :)

I like the art style, but I found the changing of controls more annoying then anything, also felt like after a while I adapted to the new controls and the gameplay didn't get any harder.

Developer

Thanks for feedback. Appreciate it. :)
