Definitely fits the theme! I feel like this would really benefit from music and sound effects, but it's still pretty fun to play with. Hope you keep working on it!

Really funky idea. It had a good sense of panic to it. It did wind up with a lot of repeated clicking though.

Submitted

Really good idea, it could be great with a little polish!

Nice use of the theme! I really want to see what it can become with more time to polish and adding some elements of game feel! Great work!

It ended up more like a digital toy than a game. I definitely want to add some point system and replayability.

Really liked the use of the theme, so interesting! But definetly the time constrain definetly worked against polishing the game. Reallt nice work nonetheless!

Developer

Thanks. Yeah time got away from me for sure

I really like your take on the theme! It's nice to have the fire out of control rather than the player!

This is brilliant, a game about an out of control fire.. how come it never ever even crossed my mind.  The concept is really cool, the gample is a bit cluncky, specially moving the camera. But it's a great Idea, I think it can even be expanded  further into a full game. Keep up the good work!

Developer

I'm glad you liked it. I couldn't get the frames to load fast enough for smooth panning within the time constraints, but I think some optimization and code rework could fix some of the clunk factor.

Really, really cool concept! Would love to see it developed further. A light tutorial buildup would be nice, introducing us to one method at a time...

Love the concept and the minimap. I would love to see this developed further with levels that teach techniques.

Developer

I definitely plan to push the concept further in a more stable, desktop environment. Browsers are great for jams, but not so great for serious number-crunching.

the goal was to burn all the trees right?

Developer

Exactly ;)

Especially found the scale of the forest and the limited impact of each tool to drive the point home. Great that it teaches a lesson!

Developer

The scale was a big design choice we made early on. I wanted it to feel like a lot of work to stop the fires.

Cool idea! And it's actually quite informative on different ways real fires are dealt with. Awesome game and awesome of you guys to bring attention to this!

Developer

Thanks. I remembered driving through the aftermath of the fires in Bastrop and out of control did come to mind back then. I figured it was a good way to combine my experience working for the Texas Forest Service and developing software.

Really fun concept, well done!

Developer

Thank you! I had so much more I wanted to add like wind, but it would have taken too long.
