Great game, although my mouse did keep going out of the screen. Other than that though i had fun. Keep up the great work :D

Developer

Thank you!
I will try to do that :)
The mouse issues are most likely because of WebGl and my lack of experience with web games.
Glad you had fun!

Submitted

A good looking game. I had trouble looking around since my cursor kept leaving the game screen.

Developer

Thanks!
Most likely a WebGL issue. I don´t have a lot of experience with web games. Should be fixable :)
Shouldn´t happen on the windows version^^

The dialogue was amazing, especially when I tried to NOT save the world, lol. Started to  get pretty laggy as I got close to the electrical sphere thing, but overall pretty cool.

Developer

That is just fantastic to hear!
I´m a programmer through and through and don´t usually write dialoques :D
So thank you! Really glad you enjoyed it :)
Sounds like a performance issue - I overestimated the power of browser games a bit ^^

Your art and story concept were very ambitious for this project.  Unfortunately, I think making it a web game kind of hindered it, as it was really laggy at points.  Also the game didnt capture my mouse focus, making it difficult to turn and look around since the mouse kept leaving the game view and it wouldnt let me fullscreen for some reason.  Other than that good work!

Thank you for your feedback!
Should have gone for a desktop version. Was a bit short on time so I didn´t find an option to upload both. Someone else has done it though.
I uploaded a post jam windows version :)

Impressive work in just 48h :)

Thank you!

Not sure if it was my browser, my computer, or both, but the framerate was quite horrendous, making it hard to understand what was going on .

Anyways, I really liked the idea of giving yourself the key :)

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you!
It was probably the browser or the fact that it was a web game.

I uploaded a post jam Windows version if you want to try that out :)

The visuals (space distortion, space view, ...) are all really well done and it makes the atmosphere really intriguing. The game offers various kind of experiences in a short amount of time (using the terminal, moving in the upside down world, suddenly going to space ...) so it keeps the player engaged. My main main complain would be the lack of music/ ambiance sounds that could be proper for this kind of adventure game, and also the sensitivity of the camera that can be a little frustrating. But overall, very good job to have being able to tell a short and understandable story  while dealing with a strange atmosphere, time-travel and extravagant twists.

Developer

Thank you!
To be honest, I ramped up the sensitivity because the cursor got stuck in the browser :D
There is a better solution surely, but I ran out of time.
Really should have included music :)
I´m so glad you liked it and actually understood the story (a bit surprised maybe :D)

The game was very short, the graphics also really really harmed the frame rate which made it difficult to move around.  Otherwise, very interesting interpretation of the theme.

Thankk you for your feedback!
There is a post jam windows version of the game that I uploaded, if you want to try that out. :)

That is quite ambitious for a 48h jam ! Kudos !

Thank you!

I seem to switch a lot between "I"  and "we".
This was a two person project. My brother did the modelling, I programmed and pieced it together :)

I mean, in terms of the theme, it fits story wise twice so that's cool. Gameplay is a bit short, probably because of a tad too ambitious graphics. Lacks feel of atmosphere because of no music. A little annoying how the cursor can come out of the game sometimes. Otherwise, nice submission, would be great to see how it couldve developed with more time! (Post jam material?)

Developer

Thank you for your feedback!
This was our first Web GL game so there is a lot of room for improvement. Should have catched the cursor probably.
Oh yes we spent way to much time on the graphics :D
Music would be cool
Post Jam - I don´t know. Originally planned to have this a one time thing, but all the positive feedback and constructive criticism kinda overwhelms me right now ^^
So maybe we should continue

You could say we ran... Out of Control (keys)

Was probably a bit ambitous to build the game for browsers :D

Enjoyed the game! honestly i was way more engaged in the story than i anticipated

Developer

Really glad to hear that! Did not expect that either :D Thank you :)

Mmmmm pretty shaders :D :D Nice big cinematic moments- kudos fitting them into a jam! Was fun but short.

Developer

Thank you! Oh yes, using pretty shaders is fun :D
Some simple stuff turned out better than expected. The title picture is just made with glow and post processing(mostly bloom xD)
Would really recommend https://cc0textures.com/ if you never checked them out :)
High quality pbr materials- and they are public domain^^
Glad you found it cinematic. Would have loved to make it longer :D

Trippy. Ran tolerably for me in firefox

I got a bit stuck at the part with the floating desks, but eventually managed to get through.

this looks like it could be pretty cool, but because it is a browser game, and not downloadable, it runs at like 10 fps on my 16 ram laptop. Here's my game https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2020/rate/697413 tell me what you think :)

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for your feedback! I tried to make it more accsesible by building it for the browser.
Might have overestimated the power of it :D
Here is a post jam Windows version, if you like to try it out :)

I´m not a storyteller by nature so that was pretty hard for me. Wanted to try something I don´t usually do.
