This is a neat game! Could definitely see it on mobile, seems like the way you interact with it would work really well on a phone. Good job!
Thanks!
Good game and very well executed ! i Loved the solar wind mechanics, it really add depth to the gameplay. I also worked on the idea of gravity for theme but relied more on intuition than planning to solve the levels. You convinced me to add a previsualization of the trajectory to maybe add more complex levels !
Thanks for playing! I like your game as well, and I believe adding some trajectory prediction can make your game even more interesting!
I loved the gameplay! I think I spent longer on this game than most of the other jam games I tried out. Super fun puzzle mechanics. If you do continue work on this, I'd love to see some polish on the UI and on stuff like having the rocket actually face the direction it's going or breaking apart on impact. Just small things to make the entire thing come together more and feel more satisfying.
Gameplay is super solid though and that's the hard part! Really good job
Thank you for your time! Those are some great and interesting suggestions!
This is a really interesting puzzle game I had a blast playing it, I think the visuals could use a bit of work and the lack of any audio is a bit of a bummer but I found the game-play it's self really enjoyable. I really hope you continue working on it, I want to play more.
Thanks for your feedback! Your words have given me great motivations to continue working on it.
What a cool little concept! To be completely honest I already had a blast just dragging the planets around and actually seeing the trajectory change in real time, I know that isn't too easy to do, so I always appreciate it when it's done well! The puzzles weren't too hard, and could have ramped up a bit more in difficulty, but the game wasn't too long so it was quite alright. I loved the little artstyle you had going here, but I do miss some space background music, to really emphasize the broadness of space! Plus sometimes the ship moves a little slow, I think you're actually using something to simulate gravity (?) but I think it would have been just fine to let the ship move along the trajectory at a steady speed, although I appreciate the attention to detail! Good job :)
Edit: my source as to why gravity etc is hard is that I made this game before: https://stevenkuperus.myportfolio.com/atmos
Thank you for your detailed description about the experience you had in the game! This information is very helpful and is something I'm always hoping to receive. Besides, I believe I discovered a great piece of art and a genius developer behind it in the link you posted. The combination of soothing piano and shiny stars really make your game a relaxing experience to enjoy. In your game, the fact that the difficulty of current launch is related to player's previous launch since the rotation is faster when being closer to a star creates a interesting and dynamic flow and also made the game felt fair and challenging. After I mastered the controls a bit, I found myself doing various fancy maneuvers in your beautiful space, and that is very satisfying. Great effort!
Oh wow, I didn't know you were gonna check the game out , thanks a bunch for the all the kind words :) No worries on the feedback, hopefully you'll keep working on the game man! It has potential for sure.
All my suggestions were already said by other commenters, so just going to say, I enjoyed it. 👍
Thanks for playing! 😉
Quite fun! I think the overall idea is really interesting and leads to lots of different ways to figure out how to solve each puzzle. I'll bet many people can come up with different solutions. My only criticism gameplay wise is since the player already knows if the rocket will reach its destination based on the trajectory, it would be nice if the rocket were a little faster or perhaps there were a fast-forward button. Overall, a good effort.
Thank you for playing! That is actually a great and constructive suggestion, and I'll take consideration of it!
I'm 99% sure this concept has been done before and technically the player does control the trajectory of the space ship so it doesnt really feel ike anything is out of control. I don't know if there was meant to be audio but when I played it there was none.
Thank you for your comment!
I did some search on the internet and found that most games related closely to gravity is that kind of platformer which we control the direction of gravity to walk on ceilings, with a few exceptions which we decide the initial velocity of our avatar in space to get to the destination. The cloest search result to my game is The Universal Sandbox, which is more like a simulator but not a game.
So if you do find a puzzle game with similar concept which the main mechanics is to directly control mass and size of celestial bodies to create gravitational influences, please let me know! I'll be very interested in different interpretations of a similar concept(that is actually part of the reason of why we are joining game jams).
About the audio, I confirm that currently the game has no music with it. Maybe I'll challenge myself and try to compose next time. For now, please pop up some light jazz and enjoy the game!
i remembered playing a game with the same concept of planet's gravity controls trajectory of something but that was so many years ago that I can't remember anymore lol
Aside from some very necessary polish, this game could have potential, I feel live movements would make the game a lot more fun, changing the size of planets while the ship moves could create an interesting fast paced dynamic.
Thanks for your suggestion! I'll definitely consider some real-time mechanism.
