Amazing game! The voice acting was really cool, the models and animations were simple but I loved them! The confirmation from the crew could take a little less time in my opinion though.
Thanks for playing and for the feedback!
Love it, one of the funniest entries of the jam lol! I wasn't expecting the permission to be denied xD. Very creative gameplay, and the voice acting is spot on! Must be a government spaceship, because the level of bureaucracy matches it! Great job!
Thanks for the comment! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I'm glad it caught you off guard with denying your request! haha!
Great simulation! Good job on the voice overs also
Thanks so much!
Is getting to Earth the goal? I only noticed the 'km to Earth' after just avoiding asteroids for a while. If that is the main objective then could you make it a little more prominent or mention it beforehand? If it's not the goal though just ignore this. I really liked the concept. It was really well polished for the small amount of time you had.
Yeah, that's what the blue compass points you toward, though I agree it would have been better to make it much more clear what the goal is. Thanks for playing and commenting!
I really loved the concept! And the execution was quite good too! I loved the laid back attitude of the astronauts and ground control even though failure was imminent.
I'm glad to hear that! I'm glad you appreciate the humor of the voice acting and the situation.
This is stressful and difficult to control. I love it - very in line with the theme. Like a few other people mentioned, it would be nice if there was a little more leeway trying to turn and avoid obstacles, since it's a bit tough to stay alive. But fun game! Good work!
I'm glad you love it! Thanks for the comment!
Of course! We'd love your feedback on our game as well, if you haven't already. SpaceBus
Well, manovreing the ship is tidious with the various steps to do, the stas on the right are harly visible (and almost useless fot that matter) and the "Out Of Control" rng makes only waste a little bit of your time, and the obstacle on jour way are unfairly hard to dodge (if even possible to do that).
Plus, on top of that, doing a move wrong is extremely punishing, and thus punishes experimentation: Witch, at the current state of the game, is the main method on how a player will understand the rules... (because the little tutorial that is on the left isn't visible on the start of the game, and some players will straight up miss it)
But, overall, i like the concept of you game, i just don't like the esecution. Also, i'd be cool if insted of a paper with the various steps you had the narrator (i really liked the narrator btw) explaining you the rules...
Thanks for your honest feedback! I appreciate you playing and commenting. If I had more time, I would have loved to make a sorta "disguised tutorial" to help the player ensure they know what to do. I was also worried that some players would not click the "protocols" and also if someone played without sound the game wouldn't work.
Well, i don't know about the first issue, but to resolve the second issue, the solution is really simple (to come up, not to implement):
SUBTITLES
I'm glad you appreciated the voice acting!
Like your take on the theme! Obstacles come at you a bit fast compared to how quickly you're allowed to manoeuvre, and whenever you're denied an action feels entirely random (I was one left turn from Earth, yet I had to pull an illegal action to get there). Could see this expand to a terribly complex game in the future. Keep it up!
Thanks for your feedback! You made the right call by doing an "illegal" action. ;) It is mostly random, but the randomness is modulated by how frequently a certain answer is given, ie, the more you get a "yes" the more likely it becomes that the next answer will be a no. (In case you are curious about the under-the-hood stuff.)
Oh I am always curious, especially when it comes to how people generate or deal with numbers. I'm an amateur developer, so everything is fascinating.
I was unsure if this deserved a 1 or a 5 in "fun". So I'm classifying it a satirical allegory for petty office politics and micro management. 5/5 would not play again.
Haha! Thanks for the good laugh! (And the rating!) Yes, definitely more of a "concept game" or "experimental" game. I love your description of it!
Awesome and fun idea! Loved the voiceover :D
PS: I will be tweeting about this game, and some other games I will play from the jam: https://twitter.com/TheAntonSem/status/1283445261952589830
Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked the voiceover!
And thanks for tweeting about it! If I was using Twitter I would follow and retweet you, but you have my appreciation nonetheless!
No problem at all! I played about 15 games so far, and this one is my favorite!
That's so great to hear!
Very satisfying turning that key and hitting the big red button, great work!
Excellent! That's what I like to hear! Thanks for playing! I'm glad you appreciate that detail.
Great voice acting, and a solid concept! It only requires one button (so basically one touch) I can imagine this as a mobile game with a little more juice!
I'm glad to hear that! I wish I had time to make it for mobile before the deadline!
I really enjoyed this game a lot. I love games that include bureaucracy as a major theme, and I also love space, so this game was basically a home run for me. Super cool and creative (and pretty funny as well)!
Wow, thank you so much for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it!!
Wow that voice acting! Great :D
Great to hear! My friend Corbin did a great job with the Houston voice! He also recorded a Captain voice but I didn't have enough time left to implement it, so I had to keep my original placeholder voice.
Fits perfectly. Congrats on finishing :)
This is such a fun and stressful game, I love the idea and that the ship is called Sitting Duck
I'm glad you appreciate it! Thanks for playing and commenting!
Awesome idea! Great voice acting, was very fun to play.
Thanks so much!
Hey there Houston, permission to leave a comment?
Goose Ladder Games, this is Houston, you are a go to comment, over. ;) Thanks for playing!
Attention crew, we're about to leave a comment. Brace for impact. This was one of the funniest games we played in the jam! Loved it!
That makes my day! Thank you!
This game is very challenging and infuriating! AAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Good concept, but it can be improved upon.
Thanks!
Yes, definitely, I agree. Do you have a specific recommendation for what I could have done better?
This is so infuriating, but by design haha, it's challenging imposing these additional commands when I just want to move and OH GOD THERE'S AN ASTEROID THERE JUST LET ME MOOOOVE! Haha, great job! :)
Brings a smile to my face! ;) haha! Thanks so much for playing and commenting!
Really cool and original idea! :D The game is challenging but quit addictive
I'm glad to hear it! Thanks for playing!
