This was difficult to control by myself but I can see how it would be a great laugh with a friend especially if you added a sort of vs mode where each player is trying to get to one side of the areana. Good game well done but not enjoyable alone

Developer

We've been working on the controls to make it more singleplayer friendly! The initial concept was a vs mode similar to how you described but this just meant that the dinghy would go around in circles. I'm sure with some balancing we could get it to work quite well though. Thank you for the feedback!

Still scared of you, but some solid gameplay ;) The funny graphics are a pretty good match really. Now just make it compatible with different keyboard layouts and add more content in a post-jam version?

Developer(+1)

Don't worry we have alternate keyboards in the pipeline but it probably won't be in the update we release right after the jam. We're planning on making a ton of levels for that version though! Thank you for playing it on stream!

Submitted(+1)

This is one of my favourites because taking control away from the player is nearly always a bad idea but this game gives just enough to give a sense of improvement.  Good jam game :)

Developer

Yeah it took a bit of play testing to get that balance right. Thank you for the kind words!

This is fun! There some chanllenging and chaotic situations. I honestly had fun playing and I would play more levels if I could. I like this game.

Developer

Thank you! We're planning on making some more levels after the jam!

First off, I like that you have the controls explained at the beginning. I think this is a pretty fun game! I played it by myself but I think if I played this with another person it would be a fun but very chaotic time! I love the voice acting in it! There some nice new challenges introduced in the levels, overall a solid game! I will say that the game icon threw me off though and made me procrastinate playing this, even though once I opened it, I was surprised to see that it was fairly pleasing to look at.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! We uploaded pretty close to the deadline so we made the icon very fast. Maybe we should change it if others have similar feelings towards it :'D

Cool game, had much fun playing it, and it's such a cool concept. Good work! (maybe you could use just 1 button for the stroke, like, you charge it and when you release it it goes woosh, instead of using 2 separate buttons, but thats just my thought)

Developer

Yeah we're planning on experimenting with different inputs. Thanks for the feedback!

Very cool and fun game. Has a very good art style :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!

Such a cool game, this would be so much fun during a party with a couple of drinks :D

My only gripe is the keyboard layout which seems a bit strange, it also feels like one button per player would have been enough and easier to play.

Really, this game is a gem, good job!

Developer(+1)

Yeah we've been playtesting different controls as these were very much just for testing. But we did find that players enjoyed the QWOP level of control this gave so I think some more play testing with different controls is needed. Thanks for the feedback!

Super fun game and looks really good. It's kind of like QWOP if you are playing it alone. Really enjoyed it and I think I could use the tyre puncture to my advantage somehow :D

Developer(+1)

Using the puncture on the last level to push your way in is a very effective strategy :'D

Submitted(+1)

Really well done, the character animation was great, the controls were responsive and were easy to use, even one player. I really like the added pressure a puncture adds, nice addition. Well done!

Submitted(+1)

A pretty entertaining and creative interpretation of the theme! You say it's two-player, but luckily this game is also playable as just one player dual-wielding. the controls :P The game's comedic style carries through in both art and sound design, so nice work on that! :D

Developer(+1)

Yeah I think most people are playing it on their own which is something we didn't anticipate. Shows the power of playtesting :'D

Submitted(+1)

I played on my own, but it was still quite fun and chaotic to control! I really liked how colliding, instead of being an instant game over, gave you a timer; it encourages out of control panic instead of having to be super meticulous. I liked the soundtrack, and the art is hilarious.

I think I had a problem with some of the screens; they seemed to not fit in my screen? For example I couldn't see the "press space to play" in the main menu. This might be due to my PC's setup. Thankfully there was no problem with the gameplay screens.

I liked the idea that the stroke strength depended on the rhythm at which you pressed the two buttons. It felt a bit weird that rowing from one side only pushed you quite far forwards, though it might be important when it's two different players.

The level design is varied and give nice fun challenges, and the fact that each level isn't too long makes losing fun instead of punishing. I really like the design behind this game; great job!

Developer(+1)

Yeah there is a bit of an issue with the UI scaling on some scenes as I only had time to just chuck in the elements and hoped it worked for most people. I'm going to release a version after the jam that will fix this and a couple of other bugs too. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+1)

I played alone and loved the game so much! Very cool concept and funny style.

Submitted(+1)

I had great fun playing it with a friend, well done in only 48h!

Developer

Thanks!

Submitted(+1)

I had fun playing it with my little brother. He liked it! Though, I don't know how its really relevant to the theme, because the floating flamingo IS controllable by 2 players. Other than that, nice job!

Developer

Oh the idea was as you get more punctures it becomes harder to control and also playing it with someone who is uncooperative would also make you have basically no control

Submitted

Oh! I see now. Well then, I guess the game IS relevant to the theme

Submitted(+1)

I played this by myself because I am such a cool person. Nice game I cried everytime I hit a rock

Developer(+1)

No shame in playing it by yourself. I had to do a lot of it to make sure the oars were balanced ok :'D

Submitted(+1)

Lmao hang in there man you did a good jo

Submitted(+1)

Absolutely love it! Amazing announcer:) love the visual and sound effects too!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Yeah we made all of the sounds during the jam. We rubbed a balloon with a ruler to make the sound of the oar brushing the dinghy

(+1)

Dang, one of the few games on here I'm rating 5 stars!! The characters have mad wii sports vibes. The visuals and theme are consistent. Everything is polished and feels right. Oh, and I LOVE the announcer! It reminds me of super monkey ball :D

Developer

Thank you so much! That was the exact vibe we were going for :'D

Submitted(+1)

So much fun! A little indicator of when how much power each row gives you would be great, (but maybe that's what makes it our of control?) I LOVE the art and the fact that you are in a flamingo floaty.  Also, I kinda hope the faces on your characters are the faces of the creators. Great game! Check out mine?

Developer

Thanks! We had a lot of fun making it. We are surprised as to how well it came out considering it is our first jam and our first time working together. Thank you for the feed back, we were not sure whether to put a charge metre and decided not to just to save time but it's something we're definitely going to try out. Going to download your game now!

Developer(+1)

Also it is our faces lol
