This was fun, and the visuals are gorgeous! The gameplay is simple enough to get hold of, and it is really unique.

I did hit a point where I realized you could camp out in the screen corner to get the enemies to clump, then take them all out before they could spread their positions. This made clearing the levels super easy and somewhat stagnated gameplay, since it didn't matter how many enemies you threw in at that point (up until the boss). If you continue to develop, maybe put something in to discourage this, maybe certain enemies deliberately hang back as opposed to coming up close, or perhaps some limitation on the invulnerability.

Either way, doesn't take away from the fact that for a game jam version, this is great! Well done

Incredible ! Simple concept, awesome execution, perfectly fits the theme !

Visually, it's really good. The glow effects really give some awesome vibes to the game.

The gameplay is fun, and even if the base mechanic is simple to understand, you still need a bit of strategy and reflexion. Awesome !

Congratulations, this is a really good entry !

Love how well the mechanics play into each other, constantly putting the player in a state of calm and vulnerability while in attack state, giving some risk vs reward elements, making the gameplay more dynamic. The boss was pretty fun too, especially the last attack phase where you force the player to have to make use of their absorption ability to eat all the bullets before going for an attack and trying to dodge all remaining bullets to survive while trying to get back your shield.

I thought it would be interesting to have different enemy types/behaviours that would challenge the player's playstyle and powers instead of more of the same enemies except with different colour and shapes firing slightly more bullets.

For example an enemy that would come up to the player and be able to damage you even through your shield, which might force the player to impulsively attack quickly, opening themselves to incoming damage.

Or perhaps an enemy that could fire bullets that can overload your shield if you were hit by it when your energy has already filled 2 bars.

And lastly an enemy that can only be destroyed by your attack if you have released it at 2 bars.

Really neat game! I included it in my GMTK compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

I rarely say this, but... the game might actually be too easy, once you know how to play it (except for the boss fight). But it is fun, original, and looks very polished (especially considering it's only basic shapes)! Nice touch with the dynamic audio filters. I like that you can take your time to check out the boss attack patterns while in invulnerability mode.
