I love the dynamic soundtrack! It was really creative to have each dwarf add something to the music.

The levels were well-crafted and the story and worldbuilding was charming :)

A minor piece of feedback - I think the physics that each dwarf adds weight is interesting but I think I'd prefer the puzzles without it because it was unclear how much it would affect me. I finished the game but the mechanic led to a lot of trial and error that didn't allow me to think ahead about my actions. It's also possible it would still work if it were more clear about its effects.

Thank you, glad you liked our game!

Your feedback really makes sense and I know what you mean, it could definitely be easier to see how much your jump height is affected by your newly added dwarf, makes a lot of sense, definitely something to keep in mind for our next games!

Also congrats on making it to the end!

That was a blast! Haha, great music, great puzzles. I love how you can get moving with these little guys. It's nice that you tool physics into account and made the bounce pads weaker per extra dwarf. That made me rethink my strategy a few times. Good work!

Developer

Thank you very much for your comment! Glad you liked our game and I hope the weight and jump mechanic wasn’t too much of a hassle to grasp.

That one level where you need to skip the first dwarf was quite challenging. I really enjoyed your game - sfx, music, visuals... everything feels well-thought-out and is executed so nicely. Bravo.

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, this level is the first where you really need to think about the order on which you pick up the dwarves so there can be a bit of a difficulty curve but we’re glad to hear you could make it through!

Pretty wacky dwarf game, I enjoyed the puzzles and the additive music was a very nice touch!

We’ll take "wacky" as a compliment for this game, thank you, glad you liked it!

Loved the different music according the dwarf we get, also its a really well made puzzle with a lot of different things to solve even with the limited actions we have, Good Job!

Awesome Game, I love the art style, i just really really love the music its awesome, the level design got progressively harder. it had me stumped for a few levels but that's the point of a puzzle game, really interesting take on the idea, i really appreciate you have the R to restart you might not think its much but like nothing is more frustrating in  a puzzle game than to go to menu to restart, overall i loved it , you and your team has done an awesome job =D

I really like the concept of this game. The mechanics of this game is not that hard to comprehend, but all the level designs are clever and challenging. Well done! What's more, the controls of this game feel so smooth and good. I can easily control the dwarves precisely. I can tell this platformer is really professionally made. Also, the music of this game is just perfect!  Overall, this is really a fantastic work for 48 hours!

Developer

Thank you so much for your very nice review, we’re very glad to hear that you liked our game, it means a lot to us!

Very nice concept! You got interesting puzzles there, where player has to think about the logistics and weight of the dwarves and consider the order in which to get them. The gameplay works well, the graphics are good, and my favorite touch was the music getting more instruments as you picked up the other dwarves (and the fact that the music looped instead of restarting each level). Also glad the game had a volume slider which has been neglected in so many games in this jam.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for you detailed feedback, it’s really appreciated!

We’re so glad you ended up liking our game and its mechanics, we had quite a blast making it.

As the person whou implemented the volume slider, I thank you personnally for that :D

A well thought-out mechanic that is explored, a layered sound track and nice art. Great work.

The third or second to last level was somewhat frustrating (reaching the high hanging torch).

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for your feedback!

I know which level you’re talking about, it can be a bit tricky indeed, hope you managed to get it anyway.

LOVED the music layering aspect, and had so much fun with these puzzles. Really polished. Great work!

Developer

Thank you so much for your nice words, glad you liked it!

A platformer where pressing space doesn't make you jump is so counter-intuitive, but this minimalism in the controls is awesome ! Joining these dwarves together lead to so many interesting gameplay situations with the influence on their shapes and their weight, which creates great puzzles.

The adaptative music is a great idea, but I'm not convinced by how it is executed

Developer

Yeah, we tried to remove to most important part of a genre and try to still get it to feel right, we're glad you enjoyed it!

THE MUSIC! I love it!

Also the logic of "Four dwarfes in a row can cross a large pit because they're walking in a row."

Developer

Thank you!

Of course it's just logic and physics! Have you never seen a bunch of dwarves haning over pits in real life?! This is day to day stuff :D

Submitted(+1)

Fantastic game! I love the adaptive soundtrack and the puzzle of what order to pick the dwarves up. The level design was great (apart from that bastard spike pit level). One of my favourites from the game jam so far.

Developer

Thank you so much, we're so glad you enjoyed our little game!

And making it to your top list os quite the feat, this is an honor!

The polished fluff added a lot to the game. The dwarves as a bridge/tower mechanic was simple, but expanded really well into different challenges. Congrats, nice game!

Thank you for your feedback! Glad to hear you liked our game!

Really good take on the concept. I found it a bit too easy at first but it quickly became clear what the game was about and the use of the position switch is actually really clever and lead  to very enjoyable puzzles.

Minor feedback if you plan on modifying the game later. I found the transition between levels a bit too fast. it would have completely deserved a nice animation in between but completely understandable that you skiped that for a jam. :)

Appart from that, great work ! I really enjoyed playing. hope to see more of it.

Developer(+2)

Thank you very much for your kind words! We really appreciate it!

I agree that a little nice animation between levels would make the game feel much more polished, I might add it for a future post jam release so stay tuned!

There were so many little touches that went into this game that were just incredible, like the way picking up the different musicians would add their instruments to the music; the simple controls that felt great, never frustrating; the character designs and artwork, and the use of colors on the dwarves to both make them stand out from the background and give them a bit of personality with their instruments; and the effective use of lighting, especially on the tavern, to make it all feel really atmospheric and lovely. I cannot say enough good things about this game. But unfortunately, I demand more levels!! I demand to buy a full release once this jam is over, because I refuse to believe this is the end!! Hahaha!!

By the way, we played your game on our stream tonight!

Developer(+1)
