Great puzzle game! Game mechanics you have used are really innovative. Great job! :)

A really unique and fun game. Earlier levels form a nice introduction, while it can become quite challenging later on. I'd love to see some more levels with a nice soundtrack and some sound effects. Good job!

Thank you so much. I think we will probably fix the bugs and add some more levels. I might even try to write some music but I can't promise anything :p

The controls really melted my brain -- challenging but fun. Nice work!

Developer

Thank you :D Challenging and fun is what I was going for ;D

very fun and challenging!

Really fun game. Challenging in a good way. Keep up the great work.

This was a really fun game! For the first few levels I didn't see the controls in the top right, so I was struggling like hell. It's kind of mind boggling to have to bee thinking about both the momentum direction and about your new position at the ball at the same time. I had a lot of fun with this game. :)

I also think that out of all the game with "swinging based" movement I've tried so far, this one felt really great and also added something unique to the mechanic.

Thank you so much for the kind words :D Feels like there are quite a lot of swinging games in this jam so that's nice to hear^^

I found it quite difficult at first, but with a bit of practise, it felt really satisfying to reach the goal!

Developer(+1)

Thank you. It makes me really happy that people are able to get the hang of the mechanics. I was kinda scared after the deadline because we didn't really explain how to best gain momentum and it also is a little hard to explain but I am really glad you had fun with it.

That's generally how shorter Jams like this go! But it didn't take long to pick it up naturally, so no worries!

This is a really great game with a really great concept! I love it, a really interesting idea, would love to see it expanded upon!

Submitted(+2)

Pretty inconsistent controls, but I definitely like the concept

This was a pretty fun game! Took me a little while to figure out how to best get the momentum of the ball going, but once I did it was smooth sailing. So I guess maybe I wish there were some tips on how to get the momentum going? Cause I found it a little frustrating until I figured it out. But yeah, apart from that little nitpick, this was a great game with a neat interpretation of the theme!

Hey thank you very much. Glad you liked it. Yeah we were thinking that we should have put gameplay GIFs or something inside of the game as some sort of tutorial after the deadline xD But we did record a playthrough of the whole game which is found on the game page.  I guess the game is easier if you are the one who wrote the code for the Pendulum and know how it works >_< But I am really happy that you managed to figure it out and had some fun with it. Thank you so much.

Really cool idea, I had a lot of fun playing! Well done!

Great game, I loved the physics! Some more background would be nice, but other than that a really nice game! (PS how did you come up with the name for the game? Just interested)

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks so much :D Yeah the background was one of the last things I made and I did not have enough time left for anything interesting. For the name I was trying to come up with a name for an ice wizard so I took the word Cryo and flipped 2 letters so it sounds more like a name(also you can pronounce it like "Zero" so it represents Ice in the form of 0° C. The Ball and Chain part is to represent the game mechanic.

I like the idea, just feels like it could work better on a 3Dimensional game. Would be nice too if there were more mechanics related to swinging, catching or throwing the ball, and some music/sounds, too! Hoping for a post jam update :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback :D

Really nice game, it feels great to swich and have the velocity of the ice ball be applied to the player

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you. That is all we wanted^^
