The mechanic is a lot of fun, zipping around while trying to avoid crushing yourself. The 1-bit style rocks. I laughed as I got myself stuck in this corner. Well done!

Developer

Love it! Thank you :)

I really wish you had a dedicated button for the grapple - having to aim it by holding a direction and pressing jump again while in the air is really awkward. The style is cute but it was too frustrating to control for me to get very far.

Developer

You're right - I think it would have been much smoother too. Might revisit the build later, stay tuned for updates :)

Really cool concept! I like being able to traverse around in the air by grabbing the blocks.

You also made great use of the main mechanic in your level design and puzzles - great work!

Developer

Thank you! :)

Interesting concept! But think controls need some refinement was quiet hard to even get past the first levels.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Agreed :) Might revisit the build later, stay tuned!

awesome game, I love the art style especially the old fat TV edges, the game is very fun and addicting the controls are tight the animations are satisfying.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate it!

Good idea. I love the hook. The game looks a lot like min. You should check it out.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! Just played your game, great concept!

Dunno if you created the art yourself, but I just used a tilemap from kenney.nl :)
Wish I could have done more art wise, but I had to do the jam in 24 hours so I did what I could!

Submitted

I didn't create the art myself either. I can do game design and program but I can't do art very well.

The game looks great, you really nailed the simplistic art style. Difficult game to get the hang of, especially keeping yourself out of the way of the blocks coming back at you. With a little more refinement and maybe a more gradually difficulty curve, I think this has a lot of potential.

Developer

Gotta give credit where it's due for the tilesheet: https://www.kenney.nl/
I believe it's the 1-bit platformer kit that I used.

Thank you for the feedback, might revisit the game later! Stay tuned :)

Very cool concept! I love how you did the hook! Great work!

Thank you for the feedback! :D

Very good concept, but numerous technical bugs make it far less enjoyable than it could have been.

Developer

Thank you! Agreed :) Might revisit the build later, stay tuned!

Interesting Concept! Reminds me of Celeste Platforms that launch you across the room with momentum. I wish the controls were mapped a bit differently, and the 1-bit art style confused me at the very beginning about what blocks I can and cannot grapple to. Overall great work!

Developer

Oooh! That's true! It would be really cool if momentum could pick up with movement.

Thanks for feedback! Controls can be definitely worked on.

Nice puzzles, cool idea
Controls are a bit tricky tho

Developer

Thank you! The controls could get more work indeed :)

I love the idea and the art style, but it was a little difficult to get used to the controls. Good job!

Thank you! :)

Controls are a bit funky and player seemded to get stuck more than enough of the pulls. The idea behind is clever and I like the minimalistic art style :)

Developer

Thank you and yes, definitely funky! Controls should be reworked, especially considering that the original idea was to use the chain as a swing first, then press the button to detach, launch the platform and gain a double jump. The game would have been much different, much more dynamic and probably more fluid. Really had a hard time dealing with Unity's tilemap system and dynamic collisions, hence the stuck movement. I'll see if I can work on that.

Developer

Gotta thank Kenney.nl for the spritesheet! Amazing assets for prototyping and game jams.
