Overall interesting design and concept but the camera definitely needs to be raised!
The player is blocking the view, my character fell without dying, went through the floor and ignored the turn many times and you forgot to tell to itch.io that this was a windows build.
I liked the music though
I dig the music and the intro!
I was having a lot of technical difficulties (e.g. the character not turning) unfortunately, and that prevented me from experiencing the game at ifs fullest, but I like where you are going with it.
As stated by other people, the game could benefit from having the camera higher. From my experience, there were a bit too much effects, they made it hard for me to see what's going on. Other than that, the visuals were pretty solid.
Overall, I see it becoming a fun and enjoyable game after some polishing! Btw, the way physics works can make it a wacky YouTuber-friendly game, watching your character take off suddenly provides some fun.
The turning could be tutorialized better! When you turn you just tap A or D instead of holding to steer. Maybe give this a try?
Thank you for playing!
Yeah, I figured it out after writing the review, thanks
I think the camera could benefit from being placed a bit higher and tile down. There were a lot of moments where I fell through a hole in the floor I had a hard time seeing.
I did experience a lot of lag and slowdown, which is either because my laptop is too weak for this game, Nvidia hates me (wouldn't be the first time), or too much stuff happening in game at a time.
Still, the idea is solid and the graphics fitting!
I was struggling with the camera. If I put it too high then the game became very easy, and putting it lower helped with the sense of speed, but it was harder to see of course. I didn't have a chance to test on a lower end machine but I should have :(
Thank you for playing!
It's hard to do proper playtesting in such a short timeframe, I can't blame you there. We can only learn and improve, which is part of what a Game Jam is all about :)
Fun game! I collected so many slow down cans that my character turned around and started running the wrong way XD
The vibe is really fun with the music. I was a bit confused when it was turning and the role of each can but except from that the game was fun and challenging
Really cool idea, well done!
The style is quirky and cool, but it's kinda glitchy. I kept having to restart the program any time I fell through a crack. I dig the music!
Thank you for playing!
Really funny idea. Had some bugs but hey, it's a jam. Would love to see further versions of your game
Thank you for playing!
Comment you High Score! Mine is 256,000 Press P for menu!
I have really been looking forward to seeing a game with rhythm in this theme. I loved the 3d view and colorful level design. As well as that, I really liked the different items and boosts that you could pick up. It was very creative and different from most of the other game jams which I liked. However, I felt like the game was a little buggy and I fell through the floor a couple of times. I also felt as though it was not super dependent on the rhythm and more on your mechanics. Overall, this game was very fun and I enjoyed playing it!
Thank you so much! That darn floor bug :( I'll get it.
I like this idea a lot, but the game is kind of buggy. Maybe it would be good to have it start off pretty easy each run, and get harder as you go. Here, it starts off kind of hard. But I like the idea! I love endless runners.
Hey! Thank you for playing! I agree with your feedback, there is so much more I want to do. I'm glad you had fun!
