Wow, I liked the idea! You've some cool sinergies in there with the armor affecting damage stuff or the burn status effect (I loved the attack wildfire, so funny to use). I'm not sure if it was me but I felt some card texts were worded correctly, like I've understood that Body Slam reduced the enemy defense before using it and finding out it's the opposite.

Great job!

Developer

Thank you ! They may have bugs with the card's description, sorry x)

Love the idea of trying to get the last hit in and having to manage the HP bar to get the kill on your turn! The variety of enemies were fun to try and beat and I would love to see this fleshed out into a complete experience!

Developer

I'm glad you liked it, thank you so much !

This was a cool idea and fun twist on games of Chicken! The UI and presentation was really clean and neat, super readable and understandable at a glance. I thought that a ton of effort went into balancing the game and having an impressive amount of variety in cards and skills, which is certainly no small task for a 48hr game jam! I also loved the character designs (I love the golems!!!) and the core gameplay was really fun. I can see myself getting sucked into this the same way I did with Slay the Spire and other deckbuilders. Great game!

By the way, we played your game on our stream tonight!

This is a great interpretation of the Jam THEME! I really loved how I started planning ahead and strategizing for each move! You have created quite the winner here! Amazing Job!

I'm glad you liked it, thank you so much !

I enjoyed playing you game, so the pleasure is all mine! Great job!

A really clever and well-executed take on the theme! I had a lot of fun strategizing my next move, and loved that the other players' cards aren't revealed until first-use. Looked and sounded great as well. Fantastic work!

Developer

You're actually the first one to compliment the game's visuals x)

Thank you very much !

Wow! We loved playing this game! The concept is so well designed, we were always thinking our next move since we shared life. Super interesting! Thank you so much!

Developer(+1)

Thank YOU so much for the kind words !

The idea of this game is brilliant. With the shared hp-bar, the strategy of this game changes to how to make the final fatal attack, which is very fun to play. Well done! The UI is quite simple, but it explains everything clearly. Overall, this is really a fantastic work for 48 hours!

Developer

Thank you so much !

I love the idea! It's like a more interesting version of Love Me Not. Showing total status affects applied is needed imo. Also the audio clips in an odd and unpleasant way?

Question, how do I know when the hand will reset? I keep thinking I have to play them all once but that's not always the case.

Submitted

Great game idea! I didn't really understood at first how I could win, if I shared the hp-bar with the enemie. When I finally understood I had very much fun with this game.

Good job!

Developer

Thank you !

Super awesome use of the theme for sure! Great job making a card builder for the jam :D Must have been challenging!

Developer

It was, I'm glad I managed to succeed. Thank you !

I love the clever concept of sharing the lifebar, great idea. My only issue was that it needs some better balancing of the status effects vs outright attacks, I found myself mostly just using the strongest attacks and a heal option to try to manipulate the healthbar. I'm sure given more time this would have been able to be better addressed.

Still a great game idea.

Developer

There are indeed some balancing issues: I should have made the status effect a lot more impacting and nerf the strongest attack. This game would have need a lot more playtesting, but I really didn't have the time. Thank you !

This is so cool, probably top 100

Developer

I hope, but with this many entries, this is very unlikely x)

Thank you very much !

*Me reading the description*

Description: "Turn based RPG"

Me: Okay. No problem!

Description: "you and your opponent are sharing the same lifebar"

Me: .... wait. WHAT? O_o

BRILLIANT. That's the most original concept I've seen so far AND it's well executed! I was really involved when I tried to gauge the amount of strength I should use based on my prediction on the slime's move. 2 Player mode will be GOLD.

That was EPIC! :D

Developer

A 2 player mode would be cool indeed. Thank you so much !

I'm a sucker for turn-based RPGs. I loved this. My biggest complaint is that I never once paid attention to status effects, buffs, or debuffs. The UI really needs some work to communicate that information better with a good visual hierarchy. Aside from that, I loved the concept of sharing health with the enemy, it made for some interesting combat. If you continue development post jam, polish the UI, and you'll have something awesome. I really loved this, well done!

Developer(+1)

I spent a lot of time improving the UI but I agree the game would have need more. I don't know how I'll continue this project, but I'm glad you liked it !

Wow this was really nice! =D The concept fits the theme perfectly - very well done!^^

Original concept! Pretty fun to play. This game got me thinking if it's possible to make a perfect ai for this game given the card set and his enemy card set lol, maybe with recursion or DP. Great game!

Developer(+1)

This game has no random elements at all, so maybe ? Thank you !

The game idea is intersting, but could use some extra work. Right now, most of the healthbar feels pointless (roughly past the point of the total damage of your and your opponent's highest damaging cards). baiaooo did have some suggestions in his comment, but I'm going to add maybe playing around with the card mechanic a bit more. Like, maybe you only have 3 cards in your hand, and those you've played won't come back until you've exhausted your deck?

I enjoyed the deckbuilding aspect, which also meant that the order you fought the enemies in mattered, as a card you can get from one enemy might be really helpful against another.

Developer(+1)

In the original concept, the card wouldn't come back before exhausting the deck, but I changed it because it felt too restrictive and there was turn where you wouldn't had any decision to make. And having only three cards who limits options a bit too much

Most of the healthbar being useless is indeed a big problem of the game current design, but I have other ideas to fix it.

Thanks for the feedback anyway, I really appreciate it ! And I'm glad you liked the deckbuilding part, I'm pretty proud of it x)

I really liked this one, its like an extend and elaborated on game of chicken. I think my main problem with it is simply the readability, in later fights there are a lot of numbers on the screen to keep track of.

Developer(+1)

Thanks ! Yeah, the UI and the clarity of the game need some improvement, but that would require time and UX expertise, and I had neither of those

Submitted

I love the concept, very original! Had a lot of fun testing it!

I think I found a bug when you click a card at the wrong moment, you can't use it during your turn even if it's not displayed as "disabled"

Developer

Thank you ! Sorry for the bug...
