Came for the cute penguins and was not disappointed. The game was very simple but so fun! Trying to get in frame in 3 seconds was sometimes very stressful, in a good way, and so worth it for the collection of photos at the end. It was especially satisfying to get a perfect photo when the frame isn't over a ledge so you have to time the jump, but the resulting half photos when I messed the timing up were incredible. The music choice went very well with the game as well!
I saw in a comment below that you were planning to make it so you have to push other penguins out of the way originally, which sounds hilarious. I hope you have a chance to add that in the future!
Thank you! I deliberately placed some frames in mid-air to introduce a timing-based challenge because I was worried the game might be too easy otherwise. I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
Definitely a very creative idea, honestly for 48h this blew my expectations!
Thanks! The game was actually "done" really quickly, most of the time was spent debugging the photo-taking mechanic and obsessively tweaking the platform placements haha
A cute and fun game- it has a great vibe. It also looks and feels polished, which is great! The game could use some more features, but it was fun regardless! Good job!
Thank you!
loved this! Was way more unique than expected. Great work (:
Thank you! I loved your game as well :)
I was expecting this to be boring but it was quite satisfying to get into the picture frame and take pictures looking all stylish! Great work on the presentation, this is a clean execution of a simple idea. I could see this expanded further by adding external modifiers like birds or apples, maybe interactable objects, etc, that all influence how you take your picture. You could also put this into a WarioWare-type game as one of many minigames you could play!
Thanks! Originally I wanted there to be more NPC penguins that you have to shove out of the frame but I didn't think I would have enough time haha. I want to expand this concept into a full 3D game though so maybe you'll get to play a much more interactive version some day!
Super cute idea :) nicely done. It would be fun if there was a button to strike a pose hehe
Omg that was one of the features I wanted to add in last minute but I ended up having to spend the time on bug fixes cus WebGL was messing up the world to screen calculations for the pictures haha. Thank you for your kind words!
That's all I have to say. Actually hilarious.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the game ❤️
10/10 idea, very cute penguins, and I love that you invoke Pokémon Snap. I know 800 isn't supposed to be easy, but the pending frames don't really stand out against the background and I very easily fail to notice them on time for my penguin to get in the shot.
Really enjoyed it! Congratulations on making a great game this jam!
Thank you! Yeah I’m not super happy about the frames; they had more contrast in the editor but the colours on the WebGL build turned out very different and I didn’t have time to fix that because the build had more pressing bugs to fix :(
Awesome stuff! Super creative idea and an incredible execution! I loved the art and the UI was also adorable. Great work!
Thank you! Most of the art was actually drawn on a phone if you can believe it 😅
The game was pretty fun. Nothing bad about it. The art was really neat and the sound design is really cute. Great game overall!
Thank you!
Scored 791! The collection of snapshots at the end made the game so much fun. I found myself laughing every time I look at the vain penguin. lol. Great job man!
Thanks! That's a great score, I still haven't been able to get a perfect 800 even after playing over a hundred times for QA/debugging but maybe I'm just terrible at platforming
Really nice game. The artstyle and music work really well together
Thank you! The music was by a local composer (I'm from Singapore), you can check out her work here.
Cute game, loved the art style and vibe. The photos at the end are an awesome touch, well done!
Thanks! I absolutely loved your game as well :)
The music fit perfectly haha. I really enjoyed this.
Thank you! I got the music from a local composer (I'm from Singapore), you can check out her work here.
Really creative idea. I see a lot of potential in this. Hope you get it where you want it to be. Cheers!
Thank you! It would take a ton of work and resources but maybe some day I'll get it done. Will definitely takes years though
Well-executed and fun game. I accidentally found out that you can perform a super jump in a specific position. Not sure if it was intended or not.
Thank you! I found that in testing too and it boils down to how the platforms are arranged but there were more pressing bugs to fix so I left it in :P
Very creative idea and fun to play!
Didn't expect to see the photos that were taken at the end, such a nice touch!
Thanks! In hindsight I probably should've flashed the photos taken on screen at the moment they're taken, but oh well. Glad you enjoyed the game!
can't comment. have headache. game good.
Thanks, hope you feel better soon!
A simple, well-polished idea. I enjoyed it.
Thank you!
Hilarious idea, extremely well executed. I always knew what was going on and the rating system at the end is brilliant!
Thanks! I spent like 90% of the jam on the picture-taking and rating systems 😂
