Health Regen is op lol! Nice game, liked it.
THANKS :D
I like how you implemented the theme! It seems like a very interesting mechanic to design your own enemy/boss.
Its also nice that there is a variety of attacks and abilities.
I think this could be developed much further! Nice one!
Thanks :D
Haha, clever idea! I think this could be developed a lot further, but there are a few things needed.
1. A way to deduce how the players reason about the boss, so you can make the right improvements.
2. A way to figure out (at least partly) how your choices might effect the gameplay and in turn the heroes thoughts about the fight.
3. A slightly clearer picture of what happens in the fight, since now it all goes so fast I didn't understand much.
4. More feedback like audio, camera shakes, animations etc.
I realize all this is way too much to ask of a 48 h jam and I really think you did a good job with what's there already, just trying to add my thoughts in case you want to develope it mroe. Right now it feels like you just choose at random (though I achieved "masterpiece" on my second try 😁🏆😉
Stay put for the post jam update, which will have all of that and more!
Very, very interesting idea. Maybe needs some more explanations in details of the skills. An idea can be that each time you play you receive a hand of different cards, and you have to combine them together to create the boss.
Anyway, good job!
Thanks :D
If you like making bosses with cards check out the board game Boss Monster
-Enjoyment: It is super fun making a boss!
-Creativity: Very cool idea!
-Presentation: It is very simple art but it works great! This is such a cool idea you should keep working on it and get some actual boss art and skill attack effects etc.
-Neat game indeed!! Please check out my non-creative entry when you can :D
Thanks :D
P.S. Your game has some wonderful sound effects.
I like this interpretation of the theme. There are lots of fun ways you can expand on the idea too, lots of post jam potential. Great work!
Thanks :D
Nice game idea!
Thanks :D
Interesting interpretation of the theme! I enjoyed the artwork and unique gameplay. It is kind of hard to understand the difference between the ability in battle. Because the battle go so fast. Nevertheless, it's still pretty fun to play.
Thanks :D
I took the outlines from https://game-icons.net/ and spent some time coloring it.
build-a-boss!! I love to sit back and watch stuff go down after a brief set-up phase. If you ever continue working on this It would be cool to face off against different party lineups, or have some kind of active role during the fights :o
I'm watching the battles go down as I type this and I'm on attempt 20 without any sign of slowing down o.o
Edit: Attempt 71 now O.O
Thanks :D
Different party lineups are indeed coming, just wait.
I love the execution on this concept! Balance is a fickle thing, especially during a jam, but I accidentally made a near invincible boss (it was 7 attempts in and still nearly full hp the entire time), regeneration perk is too OP! :D
Very well done!
Thanks :D
Epic. Even with any rough edges one could point out, I genuinely think you've made something special here. Great work :D
Thanks :,D
70 attempts later i can see that the monster is one hitting them with the 3rd special power.. nerf required.
Nerf coming in about a week. Stay tuned.
Having some trouble following what's actually happening and I find the first choice a bit odd. There doesn't appear to be any reason to pick lower hp?
Either way, I love stuff like this, just setting up a thing and throwing a simulation at it. Pretty cool. Not sure how scalable that is, but the world needs to more of these type of games :)
A remarkably measured response! But you're right, I made the sim whizz through for testing and never changed it. Also, grinding is bugged.
Still, if you liked the concept just wait until the post jam update. I have big plans. ;)
You know, I'm not really into this whole itch scene, but I just might follow this one, I really am into these "throw stuff in the simulation and see" type games :o
The idea is amazing! Always love games where you can create something and then test it.
Wish it had something more however, like some more visual representations to actually see your boss attacking. Also beeing able to see in game what your ability does, and the enemy too would be cool
Thanks :D
Yeah, animations are pretty much nonexistent. Still, you're right in that it would be nice to have them.
Great idea, well executed and a very nice aesthetic the art and music all fit together well. Building the boss is super interesting and if the heroes grinding glitch was fixed I could spend hours trying out different bosses. Will definitely be waiting for a post-jam version of this one.
Thanks :D
Played this on Mac. My game has also been build with Godot, Safari doesn't work at all, but Firefox or Chrome will, but you need to be patient while it loads (after a few minutes).
I created an indestructible monster. While I was writing this comment I have had 17 attempts. Which is great, I love to win! It would have been great if you had to create multiple monsters and they die naturally after a few days. But hey, you made an interesting games in 48 hours, so good job!
Thanks :D
The original idea was to have 3 bosses of increasing difficulty, but that got cut fairly quickly
Great idea. I thought about it myself, your's take on this is nice and very fitting for the jam. Nice work!
Great minds think alike ;)
Awesome idea! It's fun to build your boss and watch the fight play out!
I was wondering how many attempt the heros were gonna make before they give up, then I saw the info about some bosses being unbeatable. Yay that's mine ;D
Thanks :D
The heroes are pro gamers. They never give up!
Great idea, had fun wondering what the abilities would do.
Thanks :D
