Neat entry!
The combat was a little janky, but it was cool that you managed to put in multiple types of enemies and let the player use all their attacks. It would be nice if there were more visual ways to see hit points for you and for the enemies, rather than a number for HP.
The little bits of humor injected throughout gave it a lot of charm.
Nice work for 48 hours!
Very fun, I enjoyed the humor
A little janky but a fun idea. It would help a lot if hitting the enemies gave some kind of feedback to let the player know that they were doing damage
-Enjoyment: It is fun punching co-workers and getting floating hat powers!
-Creativity: Very creative ideas!
-Presentation: The pixel art has a lot of character and the color pallet is great!
-Neat game indeed!! Please check out my non-creative entry when you can :D
Fun idea! I really enjoyed the game!
I'll have to revisit this one with a real mouse instead of trackpad, as the controls weren't working very well for me. I like the look and feel a lot; you did a good job of capturing a silly vibe without being full humor. "I WANT A COFFEE"
Nice work!
Interesting concept! The art and music definitely suits the game theme.
The presentation is excellent! I like the consistency of the artwork, sound effects, and music! One thing I ran into was the bosses kept triggering through the locked doors, spoiling their dialogue a little early, and the game over didn't reset the game but instead kept me in a dialogue loop. Really fun concept and clear gameplay though! It could maybe use a little more feedback on whether an attack has hit an enemy or not?
Very goofy, loved the dialogue and commentary even if the gameplay was a little clunky. I did encounter a bug on the death screen where the enemy just kept calling me a hat-less intern on loop which felt a little uncalled for though :'(
As someone who's doing an internship in a tech company, I can confirm that this is what I go through everyday.
One of the things that can be improved is the feedback of attacks. It's not always easy to tell if your attacks are hitting, and having some visual/sound effects when it does hit will help a lot with the impact. Also, I can't tell the differences between the attacks. Is there a reason not to equip the newest hat?
Other than that, I think it's a short and creative game. Great job on it!
I like how you interpreted the theme. An idea could be if your attacks could change when you changed hats. I encountered a couple of issues(the boss dialogue activated while the doors were closed, getting stuck when defeated), but good work overall!
Funny and goofy in both dialog and art! Nice approach to theme but i think there is too much dialog that keeps interrupting the flow of combat, passing some dialog that doesnt interrupt combat might have been better in my opinion, all in all I love the game but couldnt restart when I died.
Please be sure to rate our game back as well!
Our twist of the theme is that a critic tries to play your unfinished game, and you fight from inside the computer to make him like it.
The dialogue is fun to read haha I like the story idea! Once I died I wasn't able to restart and it would repeat the same dialogue. Maybe implement some type of game over screen to go back to the beginning? Combat was cool and I could see idea being fully fleshed out!
I quite enjoyed the story! The comedy was strong. Unfortunately, I didn't get too the end because I found that the gameplay was a little too hard for me. A cooldown timer would have been nice, especially early on when your attacks are infrequent. Nice work overall!
