I actually love a good horror game, and despite the clever inversion, I still found it similarly thrilling because of how well you balanced it.

It took me a few goes to get a feel for a good scare, but I had an absolute blast playing this. I even played a couple times after getting the S rank aha. The atmosphere is awesome, the detective is responsive enough to not feel frustrating, and clear enough to feel like you're in control and yet scared he might see you prematurely. The visuals match beautifully as well, the music, sounds, bobbing of the monsters viewpoint. All great.

I'd be really keen to see this continue development. Add some accessibility (eg allow the player customise the audio levels, mouse sensitivity etc), fix any bugs (light reflections of the player and the detective were the only things I saw that pulled me out of the experience), some new levels and mechanics etc and it could really take off imo.

Thanks for making this!

Great foundation for a full game.

The art style is simple. However, I found that the sound effects and music coupled with the general darkness made it an engaging experience. I found it cool that despite being the monster I still had to run and hide from detective to make sure I did a good jump scare.

For improvements, maybe work on the controls a bit. The mouse felt a bit jerky. Perhaps add a sensitivity slider. Also, I noticed that there was a reflection of the players light source on some surfaces. Maybe replace the singular light source with two light sources to make it look like glowing monster eyes?

I would really recommend working on this game. Maybe add some more levels and different ways to increase your scare score.

Excellent Submission!

I really enjoy this game! I love the sound design, it is really well done. I found out you can just spam SPACE and you will always get S rank, which seems like a mistake. It is very fun though, great job!
