How does your game fit the theme?
My game fits the theme by playing character we've never seen much of before: whoever places the signs around the map. Many games have signs everywhere with no explanation, until now. The role of the hero is given to the computer, while you now take on the role of the true hero: the sign placer.

Did your team create the vast majority of the art during the 48 hours?

No

We used pre-existing art

Did your team create the vast majority of the music during the 48 hours?

Yes

We created the vast majority of the music during the game jam

Oh, i'm a sucker for puzzle games, and this is a very nice one, not much to comment on the gameplay loop itself, i loved it, however i would very much like that a fail/restart would not wipe away all of my signs, wish i could just remove one and try again and that the game would tell me that i could go through signs. Also the camera could follow the knight after the play, but that one is nitpick. All in all this is very solid and very fun, props to you!

Thanks for playing! I will definitely hope to make these changes in the future.

Very creative take. The concept fit into the theme so well and the puzzles are interesting to play!

Developer

Thank you for playing! I'm glad you liked the concept.

The idea behind this game is incredibly well-developed. It’s clear that a lot of thought and effort went into creating this game, and it shows in the final product. Well done!

Thank you!

The puzzles were designed very well and everything is well polished, great work!

I don't normally play or like these kinds of games but I legit enjoyed this. It was fun to puzzle out just exactly how the signs worked. Maybe I should play games outside my comfort zone more often, but I choose to believe that you just did an exceptionally good job, so good job :)

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm glad I could give you an enjoyable experience, but I definitely do recommend stepping outside of your comfort zone, it's always nice to try new things!

This is a great game! Well designed so that simple mechanics can result in complex behaviours creating some genuinely great puzzles. The concept is fun and pretty meta too and the art is just great!

I agree that the signs should persist after death. The only other thing I can think of is perhaps making it more clear how the screens connect in each level - one solution may be to replace the camera icon with NESW style arrows. Though this is a very minor complaint as great effort has clearly been put into making this clear in the level its-self.

Overall though this is a great game and I enjoyed playing it a lot!

Developer

Thank you so much! Making the cameras connection more clear may help, I did generally design it so you go in numeric order, but I think in the future, maybe I could make it more clear with more polish/animation.

Very interesting puzzle game and a more interesting take on the theme, the programming part of the game is overall fantastic! The only issue I find with the game is that after restarts signs shouldn't disappear, but just let you edit them instead. Other than that, really enjoyed it and I wish you luck on future stuff!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Good luck to you too!

Fun puzzles once you get your head around how the player reacts to signs. Only critism would be having to replace all the signs after failing.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing, I hope to change that in the future!

Interesting game, nice puzzles and gameplay. However, wish that the level didn't completely reset my signs, especially in the longer levels (I misplaced a sign lol). Other than that, solid game! Enjoyed this one a lot!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I hope to change that in the future! Thanks for playing!

Neat programming/maze-solving game. I loved the sound design of the knight's movement; we spent a lot of time on sound for our game so appreciate others making nice sounds as well.

I agree with other commenters that the camera options should've been a hotkey to be a bit smoother and the knight moves a little slow, but I still really enjoyed the puzzle design, art, and sound. Nice work!

Cool idea! I thought moving between the cameras was a little cumbersome. I think it would be nice to have buttons to view the different cameras, and maybe a walk quickly button. The coloring of the sprites is very pleasing to look at. :)

Developer

That's true, definitely a QoL change I would've liked to add, and may still after the jam. Thanks for playing!

Such a unique role reversal idea! I really loved the extra mechanic with the cameras, super awesome way to add some more complexity

Thanks for playing!

lovely! wish i could use wasd instead of arrow keys since my right hand is on mouse to place but was fun

Developer

Thank you! You actually can use WASD, I just couldn't fit in both the arrow keys and WASD on the tutorial screen, sorry about that!

really fun puzzle game! i couldn't beat the level with 3 cameras because i was missing the last sign.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I didn't add much leeway with the signs count, but I think with that level being so early I should have so you could get your boundaries more easily.

Awesome game. Gotta say, I didn't understand the connection to the theme until I saw the jam page explanation, but after reading it I gotta say that it was a really good use of the theme!

Developer

Thank you! I can get not seeing it right away, but I'm glad you like it's usage!

I like this game very much. loved the idea. Great work. Check mine out if you want to

Cute game with a fun mechanic. Would love to see expansion on this with different signs and some quality of life improvements. Great work!

Developer(+1)

Definitely! I wanted to add a "pause" sign but I ran out of time, thank you for playing!

Submitted(+1)

The art style is super consistent and very cute, I love the idea of the game, playing as the signpost. I really wish that when you messed up, you could continue with the signs you had before instead of having to fully restart.

You did a great job of making interesting puzzles with having the knight interact with any sign near him instead of only ones he is on top of.

Developer

Thank you! I absolutely wanted to add that feature, I just ran out of time to implement it, but if I get around to updating the game post-jam, it is definitely one of the first things I'd like to do.

Great game! I've seen similar being used to teach algorithmic thinking to 1st graders. The difficulty spikes, though; couldn't figure out the first level with 4 cameras (level 5ish?) in the 5-10min I give each game.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Sorry for the difficulty spike though, I intended for a more challenging last level, but probably should've eased into it more.
