Super cute! Wish there something to measure progress though, like score/number of days survived

Really nice game. I love how the animals interact with the environment (hiding in trees and bushes etc.). The art is very good and the music fits well. I think overall it fits the jam theme well.

I love how I am this fox and eat all these innocent animals but get hunted at night and die to a pack of rabbits. I love art style, and the music. Throughout my playtest, I like the transition between day and night, and how the music changes. I also notice my hunger doesn't go down until evening comes. I also notice the AI only attack me once if I stand still, and that's it, is that intentional as well? I think having the AI attack me multiple times will be cool to see. I manage to survive the first night without moving the fox. Other things I notice are, the squirrel animation of going back up to a tree even when there is no tree is very weird to me. Also, I notice how the animals running away from me, tend to clipped through objects. The rabbits should also be balanced as I think they jumped too quickly and very far against the player.

Overall, I think this is a very solid game and I had a lot of fun playing this game! I think the few ways of improving the game and make it better is by implementing a timer and also a score system, this will really motivate the player to play more. Having a leaderboard for this style of game will be very good too! We have one for our game and if the team is interested, I think in one of the comments, one of the dev explained about the leaderboard that we used.

Great art and music! Introducing new animals each night is a nice progression, but it could use something more to keep motivating the player.

Super game with a highly original idea! I really enjoyed the art and the mood, it really sells the whole vibe. Great job!

Very cute game! I loved the art and music, but it seemed more like a mini game that a fully laid out game. It could use some work on motivation (like points, timing, scores) or just a general goal that you're trying to reach. Otherwise, super fun!

Developer

Thanks for the suggestion! Actually, we planned that the game will have different seasons and pools of animals for each season, then the game is beaten when we finished a year. But we couldn't finish as planned and forgot about other motivation like scoring system.

Interesting concept and very fun! The atmosphere to this was absolutely stunning and so is the visuals!

Although the game started with simple mechanics, I like how it introduces new animals with different movement patterns every day. I was hoping the wolves would turn into prey at night but maybe that would have been too easy. The art, music, sound design, and atmosphere, were top-notch. Great job!

The art is great, so is the music. I had fun playing!

Very nice pixel art. I like how the game does a 180 on you. literally.

I didn't read it all the way and I freaked out when the mice got mad thought hunters would come out or something. good game

Someone else made a predator/prey game! Of course since I did the same I would like your idea, and I like the art style too. Whoever drew those mice needs to give me some pointers lol. Good submission!

Very nice and atmospheric game! Great choice of colors and for some reason I really like the glow on the light areas. Simple, but very enjoyable gameplay. Want to play again to see what horrors await me next night!

Really nice job, I like how you slowly added new animals as the days went on! I do think the game is a little too cropped in though, I often felt like I would run straight into animals I couldn't see offscreen.

The ghosts of the dead animals were strangely cute....

Those bunnies are terrifying

i really love the art, its so cute, good job!!

The concept is innovative! However, the rabbits jumping length is quite long, which is kinda annoying sometimes. Anyways, cool game!

Developer(+1)

I'm the one who make the rabbit logic and balance animals. I made it that players can't run straight to escape easily. Anyway, Thanks for the compliment!

so many rats are in rat heaven now iwi

Super neat and I haven't played anything else like it (yet)! I think maybe the collider on the first prey type is bugged? I couldn't eat them and they couldn't eat me. But the rest was great and I was really into it by the end once I realized the bug! Those boars though. Nasty buggers.

Developer(+1)

There's a bug that make first animal spawning wave doesn't work in the first time opening the game. It happens randomly and we couldn't fix it in time. Sorry for the inconvenience.
