Really cool idea, presentation was great!
I did however encounter a bug where mario just ran to the left after killing the first goomba and just glitched out in the corner, was pretty easy to follow him with the camera when he did that. :)
Overall, Good Job!
Very cool idea ! I like the chunky artstyle and CRT aesthetic ! Unfortunately I would prefer a less slidy camera to follow the protagonist, it was very hard to keep focus on him after the first big fall, and the meter was very rapidly going down. It pushed me to try again many times tho ahah. And yeah, the music and sound are a bit too loud as well. Nice game nonetheless !
Fun and creative idea. I got a bug where definitely-not-Mario keeps running and jumping to the left after killing the first enemy.
Cool idea! Very chaotic gameplay, although I feel like the lack of checkpoints makes it frustrating to start over. Also, I'm not personally a fan of the reversed controls part, having already slippery controls makes it incredibly more difficult to not lose the game. I think the art captures the feeling of the game perfectly. Overall, nice work!
This is definitely the best version of this concept I've played yet! Fair controls, good art and music. I love the framing looking through the camera. It was very fun trying to keep notmario in the center, and the times he turned around suddenly were exciting challenges lol. Amazing job!
I loved this game. It was so fun and the camera man role was one that was very creative.
It would be much appreciated if you would rate my game.
A very chaotic experience and one that i love!
great idea, and I dig the art... good luck with the jam!
the idea is great, but there is a bug where the player would get stuck on the wall and then you can't play anymore, so that's disapointing, but overall it's really great. can you also play my game so I can get feedbacks please!
It's a great game, I just suck at it lol
Awesome idea, hard af!!! lol, soooo hard haha, loved it!
Very unique concept and even better execution. Just needs the difficulty to be lowered a bit and this would be a killer game!
Edit: After playing it again, I got a bug where Mario would just run into the left wall upon playing making it unable to play. Don't know how this was caused, my mate played it and it was fine.
Here is a gif of what's happens
Great concept and very promising execution! Like others I had issues with the glitch where it goes left and gets stuck there unfortunately. This combined with the difficulty of the drop after the slow-mo makes it hard to get into the game. with a little of polish and balancing it can be really fun!
I would love to control the camera with my mouse!! Could also not get past the first drop and had the mario going left bug at the third attempt. But nice concept!
Interesting take! Agree with others on the incredible difficulty spike. I think this is a style of gameplay that would benefit incredibly well from analog inputs.
The theme was initially off-putting... but after I clicked play I immediately became charmed by it. You leaned in *really* well and the execution is fantastic.
The dude got stuck jumping after a while but I love the idea!
I can't get past the first drops, huge difficulty spike lol
like the idea and the looking.
but i stopped playing at the slow mo part ^^
wpuld like to see whatt happens if you had more time :)
Really like the concept, but the character going left glitch stopped me from trying enough to get past the harder segments
On thing, maybe make it clearer how long slomo lasts? when the screen size changes the world slows down for a bit, but then it's very hard to keep up with mario when time speeds up again (and you aren't prepared for it when it happens) or if there is some system to make that clear maybe make it clearer? and also some ways to manipulate the camera speed for the faster segments would be appreciated
Still very good job, and I'm kinda sad that the glitch stopped me from playing it further
Thanks for testing, I agree with it all and would have implemented those things if I had the time :)
But the player is supposed to run left sometimes at the start but should change direction back to right once reaching the wall. Did the player get stuck or something?
I also regret increasing the difficulty right before submitting, haha
Pretty fun, but it gets pretty hard quickly, and unfortunately there is a bug that makes the game unplayable sometimes
