Really cool concept, great presentation! I wish my AZERTY keyboard was supported, other than that it was great fun trying to touch type that traffic, nice work! :)

Developer

Thank you for playing! Ahh I didn't find the time to get round to accounting for different keyboards, I'm sorry!

the car crashing is funny as hell 10/10

*sees the name* A typing game… wonder how it deals with Dvorak.  *tries it* Looks like it interprets all my keypresses as QWERTY.  Well, at least I can blame all the times I pressed the wrong key on not being used to QWERTY!

I like this game but I feel like something's not clear about the lose condition.  Apparently it's when the fire meter gets to zero, but most of the time I'm not looking up there, so it just seems like I randomly lost (and/or is it when too many cars are waiting?).  (And I'm not sure why it goes down; it says something about "stalls" in the description, but does that mean when a car isn't moving, or when they're told to move but can't, or what?)

Developer

Thank you for playing! I'm sorry, I didn't have time for a number of features I wanted to add like levels with lower difficulty, which included different keyboards..

Yes, so by "stall" I just mean when a car is stationary for any reason. If they're held up by the stop mark, or by a car in front doesn't matter. I wanted to add some visual/ audio feedback for this (like the cars tooting in annoyance or something) but didn't manage it in time. Hopefully the fire system is visual enough that you can realise you are close to losing when all the cars start slowing down again and the fire colours fade away. Thank you for the feedback!

Superb gameplay, simple and addictive, perfectly on theme and a perfect sized project for a jam, better than any touch typing game made by professionals, couldn't stop playing!!!

Nice gameplay! Really had me focusing from the very start

Thank you for playing!

A really nice isometric dimensioned game developed keeping the theme in view, the mindset is really creative, It's the first game i've seen that is really innovative. Hope to see this game in top 100.

Best of luck :D

I will wait  for you to play and rate my game as well. It will be a pleasure for me.

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed it

Try so hard to get all cars to cross the srction smoothly. It's really fun to play. Good job

I love that the title screen is a tutorial. Within the first 10 seconds I'm already fully understanding and playing the game! Well done!

For the high scoreboard it would be cool if it showed me where I placed relative to other players rather than just showing the top 10. You don't need to show the whole scoreboard (that would be overwhelming) but just like the 5ish people ahead of me and behind me.

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm really glad the work on the title screen was worth it.

So, for the leaderboard, if you click the button to the right of "Submit Entry" called "Load Previous Best", it will show your highest current submitted score alongside the rank (eg 11th). Then, on the right side at the bottom, you can choose what page of the leaderboard to show by clicking right or left, or just inputting the page number you want, to see how it compares. If I continued development I'd definitely love to implement something that automatically shows, say, the top 5 and then the 5 people just ahead and behind you though.

Thanks for playing!

Fun game, .Well done!

Very polished and I like the idea, but damn I suck at this, not just the typing but how many things you need to track.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! It's definitely on the difficult side. I'd hoped to make an easy and medium mode that limited the rate of cars and the range of letters that could appear to make it more accessible, but I'm glad you liked it nonetheless

Submitted(+1)

Cool game, too difficult to keep track of all the cars for me

Developer

Thank you for playing. It's definitely on the difficult side, but I didn't find the time to make an easy/ medium mode sadly

Very nice! The music fit and sfx added a lot of character.

I wanted the difficulty to get a lot harder as once I realized I could send through the lines of traffic through two at a time it became a little repetitive. That said, the chaos at the start when I was trying to figure out how it worked was fun and satisfying when I worked out what I had to do.

I loved the start screen - what a beauty!

Developer

Thank you for playing!! I spent a lot of my last hours on the title screen haha but I'm really happy it's paying off.
The system that lowers your fire level only punishes stationary cars - so it softly encourages you to keep all cars moving rather than two queues at a time. But I admit it doesn't really impact until a bit into the level. I'd wanted to add some feedback that lets the player know that's happening, like the cars tooting in annoyance or something, but game jam be jamming!

Very challenging game. There's a lot to keep track of, but for some inexplicable reason it seems to work very well.

It's a really original idea too. Definitely fits the theme, but in the most unorthodox way I've seen, and it also isn't your average typing game either.

The assets look great (even if they're mostly free assets, you still used them effectively).

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if this game ends up in the top 100.

Developer(+1)

I had hoped to make an easy and medium mode too, limiting the range of letters and the rate cars appear, but I sadly ran out of time. I'm glad it was still manageable though. Thank you very much for playing

Great music, love that there are different options! I really love typing games and especially ones that do things differently. I am satisfied with 2nd place, couldn't beat Canoparia :D

Developer

Thanks so much! I'm really glad I added the options then, and congrats for second place!

I love typing game so this already earned stars from me. The chaotic within the traffic builds the tension really quick. Took me several tries to get a hold on the mechanics but once done, I am locked in focus mode. Satisfying combo on scoring. Great job on this game! :)

Developer

I'm so glad! The pause menu has some instructions, but I also figured there's something fun about figuring out your own tactics. I'd hoped to make a mini tutorial but ran out of time sadly

5 stars by the way, solid game! It is well polished, the graphics are great, the music fits perfectly and it's extremely fun. I used a tactic where I go around it clockwise or anticlockwise, I forget which.

Developer

Epic!! That's a confident lead! Thank you so much for playing, and yes anticlockwise I think is a really good strategy... I'm so glad you enjoyed it

Really fun, just need to convince the city to install a roundabout! GG

A typing game is very unique idea for the jam! It took me quite a few tries to figure out to prioritize letting cars through that won't hit each other, rather than just typing each letter as it enters the screen. Maybe a short tutorial could help teach this concept a little better? But overall, great work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I had hoped to make a couple tiny tutorial levels, but in classic jam fashion I had to cut them. I was also wary of loading you with a text tutorial and wanted you to be able to play fast - but if you press escape or backspace to pause the game, there's a mini explanation of everything there at least

The score screen feels super rewarding watching it tally up. The controls are super unique and works so well that I'm suprised I haven't seen it before. Music is a strong vibe. Nicely done!!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! I spent probably too long on the score screen so I'm really glad it paid off
