Okay the credits were super cool, kudos on that detail.

I enjoyed the visual style, really takes me back.

The sound was a bit too repetitive and didn't seem to convey much of the grandiosity/action.

I made a pacifist run of sorts, avoiding conflict with monsters because combat was too hit-and-miss for me. Also, although the movement felt a bit janky with the floatiness, sprinting around fixed the slow move speed.

I enjoyed seeing the world diminish as I got bigger and bigger soldiers, was just a bit odd to see new bigger monsters around when there were none before, but that's  nitpicking I suppose.

Some doubts: what was that "I'm also here" guy? And the scary head above my soldiers at the end?

Overall, it was a nice idea! Congratulations!

Oh wow, thank you so much for the detailed response! That's great haha. Yes, I feel like I neglected the controls and combat too much in favor of the visuals, but I appreciate the feedback

I'll give you this, the "I'm also here" guy is Mr Mort, a mascot that appears as easter eggs or a character in most of my creative projects. And the big head was initially supposed to represent the player, although I didn't get too much time to shove that into the narrative. Y'know, because the game makes you feel small and big at the same time!

i definitely liked the look of the game, the environments are great and the the concept is neat.

the combat didn't feel good, it felt easy to avoid and cumbersome to attempt, the attacks the enemies were doing were unclear and attacking felt like i was putting myself in danger rather than getting rid of dangers-

the player was too floaty, the air control was poor,  and the fall damage felt completely unneeded, sometimes i would take fall damage just from jumping through the small hilly spaces-if you wanted to do fall damage it would have ideally had a purpose (preventing you from going places or something to that effect)

as you say a better player controller would probbably be a good idea to attempt, i enjoyed the look and mood of the game much much more than the feel- the scaling of the environment was cool and the visual of when you first get on top of a giant's head and then you're controlling it was a fun moment, neat jam game :)

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback! I'll definitely put more time into combat and controls next jam haha. I'm glad you liked the visuals and the environment

bit janky but i loved how moody this game is, with the fog, the music and the muted colors <3

Developer

Haha thank you a lot! I definitely prioritized form over function, but I do wish to make a better character controller next jam. I'm glad you liked the atmosphere!

Awesome aesthetic! I was able to just run past most of the enemies though, maybe you could add some incentive for the player to defeat them? Really cool game

Developer

Thank you so much! Yes, you are right haha, I wanted to make sure the ambiance was 100% right and neglected on combat a little bit

Really enjoyed the atmosphere on this game!

Some sort of visual/auditory feedback when you hit enemies would go a long way

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback! Yeah, I did put in some audio feedback but I think I'd have to set it up to be a bit louder sometimes

LOVE the art style, great job. Controls are a bit clunky but the game's got spirit. Well thought out map design. Keep it up! If you plan to keep working on the game and need help with the music or sfx, hmu!

Developer

Thank you so much! The feedback means a lot. Is there anything you'd suggest improving about the controls?

I would like to try it tomorrow on my main pc with my mouse, tried it with my laptop. Camera felt unresponsive and with some kind of input lag, i think that was my main issue with it

Developer

No problem haha! Thank you for the notes

How many of the assets did you make specifically for the jam?

Developer

Most of them! I only used a couple cc0 textures for the terrain and two (if I'm not mistaken) cc0 sounds. I did most models, textures and UI on day three

Whoa, that's awesome! I love the differently sized swords everywhere. They made me feel small at  any stage!

Developer

Haha thanks! That means I successfully communicated what I had in mind
