I had fun! The main mechanic is really clever, and I like the experiment feel to it.

Thank you so much! Glad you liked it

I really like the mechanic! As I was entering into the last one I thought to myself "one where I have to get real big and then give all my size to a block would be real cool." then there what was! Awesome job! As a UE solo dev, UE game jam games always have a special place in my heart! I love the concept and the puzzle are designed well, and there are definitely a lot more cool places this idea could go!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! Glad you managed to reach the end. Yeah I really liked that last one - would have loved to have time to make more like it!

Nice little game, like the puzzles, could imagine more of them, the mechanic is pretty interesting, good game :) Feel free to check my game too :)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Yes I'd love to build some more levels for this - felt like I was just getting to the part where I was getting ideas for the most interesting uses of the mechanic as I did the last one. Will check out your game!

Fun and interesting puzzle concept! Definitely has some of that "Portal" style to it where you feel like you're in a testing chamber with some kind of unknown tech. I really liked the puzzle at the end where you had to cross the chasm, took me a hot minute to solve! Great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing and the feedback! Glad you reached the end :D

It took me reading the comments and your page to fully understand how the mechanic worked, but once i understood that you were absorbing rather than shrinking stuff the puzzles felt really satisfying, I also ran into the bug with not being able to be small enough, I tried going back to absorb more and see if i could shrink more but i realized i could absorb the whole block at the top to shrink twice as much which i don't know if that was intended, I couldn't do it again either so i'm not sure what i did lol

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing and the feedback! Yes becoming smaller than intended only once is probably part of the same bug - I found that there is a small error in the maths for how the scaling works which gives you a small bump in either direction when you first start absorbing/emitting the dark blue blocks... so going the right way when first affecting them is key in this build unfortunately :D

Its such a cool mechanic, even with/possibly because of the bug, it feels very different from some of the other absorption games i've played. in the jam.

I like the absorbing and emitting mechanic. I could see other levels being made where you absorb walls or something to get 'behind the scenes' like in Portal.

Developer

Thank you! Yes Portal was definitely a big inspiration for this - wish I had time to make more levels for the jam :D

Really dig this! There's a lot you can do with this mechanic. I could see way more levels coming from this. I particularly enjoyed the last puzzle because it took me a minute to understand what I needed to do. Nice job

Thank you!! Glad you made it to the end

Cool idea but was unable to continue quite early on. I wasn't small enough to fit through the doorway despite spitting out all my matter.

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Yes I've had other people run into that bug - you should be able to get past it if you absorb all of the light blue blocks fully in the initial hallway and stairs, and emit all your matter to the dark blue block when you reach the door.

Make sure you emit to the dark blue block first and don't try to absorb it (the bug is around absorbing those dark blue blocks as your first action on them).

It is so satisfying to absorb and release objects to scale my character up and down. Clever and challenging puzzle design. I want to see more!

Developer

Thank you! I also wish there was more :D

Such a clever mechanic and utilised so well! I love the portal-like theming. Final puzzle was very clever, I wish there was a bit more. Nice one!

Developer

Thanks Sam!!
