Artstyle and music/audio was fantastic! Personally, and maybe it's my monitor, but I can't really see what I'm doing very well unless I max my lamp's brightness, but then I lose battery before I can attract any mosquitos and lose really quickly. Also I just keep hearing squishing sounds and I'm not exactly sure what those mean. Maybe cuz I can't see very well.

Also, not sure what the ghosts do and what you mean by "control" them.

I enjoyed the variety of enemies, which made learning the game more engaging as I figured out their unique traits and how to defeat them. Some additional visual feedback when dealing with mosquitoes would be helpful, as it was sometimes unclear if I received the heart boost. The focused flashlight mechanic was satisfying, especially when targeting the blue enemies. A slight adjustment to its movement could improve the experience. Well done!

The design and idea are very nice. Maybe it would be more exciting if the music accelerated when our energy was low:D

Nice visuals and music, tutorial was helful but I think introduce the mechanics one by one in-game would be better, anyway good game :) Feel free to check my game too ;)

Love the artwork and concept here, the artwork especially. The tutorial at the beginning was great, but having all the bugs being introduced at once did overwhelm me a bit. Really good game nonetheless though!

Nice game, did enjoy it! The tutorial was decent, though it would’ve been easier to see the bugs being introduced slowly rather then all at once and having to remember all their quirks. Regardless good game!

I like the tutorial gifs, they really do a great job of explaing the game. I feel like the gameplay itself is imbalanced, it feels random. Also you should make it clear that you need to hold the mouse button, I thought that the game was bugging out. Overall cool concept, mostly well implemented.

A very cohesive visual style, that drew me into the game! I liked the setting of bugs in the night and the art was great!

At first, I did not think you would have to click and hold to keep the light on. And overall the controls/movement of the flashlight were a bit slower than I would have expected.

I loved the variety in enemies, it made learning the game more fun, to know the different bugs and how to defeat them. A bit more feedback/particles/juice on doing the right thing with the mosquitoes could be nice, sometimes I could not tell if I got the heart boost from them or not.

I loved focusing the flashlight, that felt powerful and satisfying to get the blue guys. (Maybe a bit closer to the movement I would have liked the flashlight to have overall). Great job!

Awesome art and sound design.

The art and design are fantastic!!!  I really love the concept. It was a bit tricky to control at first, but I still enjoy playing the game , it’s interesting and creative!

The art is beautiful! And it's a super unique take on the premise!

I find the controls somewhat difficult to use, still having trouble making the double click work consistently.

I had a hard time at first but after it was fun. Like the atmosphere, very cool, the art too. Nicely played!

I really enjoyed this game, simple to understand but had me making a lot of decisions about where to point the light and how to use it. Really great execution of a very unique mechanic

The artistic elements of Debug are particularly noteworthy. The attention to detail in both the bug design and the environment enhances the overall experience, creating a visually appealing and immersive world. The music complements the gameplay beautifully, elevating the game’s atmosphere and adding an extra layer of enjoyment.

The game excels in its innovative approach to the bugs design and their logistic of reaction. It adheres to the GMTK Game Jam theme with a fresh twist, making it a memorable experience. The integration of interesting character design is particularly effective, showcasing the developer’s creativity and understanding of the theme.

As you advance in Debug, the difficulty gradually increases, providing a satisfying challenge without becoming overwhelming. This balance between ease of entry and escalating difficulty keeps the gameplay engaging and rewarding.

I don't know about other devs, but I prefer a human wrote comment, even if it is written poorly. Please keep that in mind.

Really enjoy play this game, the game mecanics is very related with real light how we use light. The enemy is so cute especially the ghost bug I really don't want to kill them. At start it is a difficult game but after learn I relly get how to survive, smart game and smooth flow. The art is fantastic, you guys nailed this!

The environment is too dark without the light turned on so I can't really see what's going on haha, great concept and fun game nonetheless.

Developer

Valuable feedback, but the point is to push you turn on the light and observe the world and eat more bugs to gain more points!
