The game has well-polished physics and controls, offering a challenging yet enjoyable experience. However, some players noted that certain level designs can be frustrating, especially when speed is required but careful maneuvering is also needed. The checkpoint system is appreciated, but the final item's price is considered too high, requiring significant backtracking, which can detract from the overall enjoyment.
5-5-5 Stars <3 Great Job
While the controls were initially overwhelming, I understand their necessity for such a complex project. It was a relief to discover that the transformations save when objects are picked up. The working save system is also impressive for a game jam. My only suggestion is to add some sounds. I realize time was tight, but with some chill music and unique sound effects for each item, this game would be even more satisfying. Excellent work!
It's impressive that you created this in just a few days. The title graphic is excellent, and the opening cutscene was very well done. However, it might help to make each critter version more distinct, as they can be difficult to differentiate when swarming. The critter builder is well-designed and easy to use. I couldn't help but watch all those minions working for Mother. Great job!
I enjoyed the variety of enemies, which made learning the game more engaging as I figured out their unique traits and how to defeat them. Some additional visual feedback when dealing with mosquitoes would be helpful, as it was sometimes unclear if I received the heart boost. The focused flashlight mechanic was satisfying, especially when targeting the blue enemies. A slight adjustment to its movement could improve the experience. Well done!
Honestly, I'm not sure. The first level being set in an open area was nice, but then being in an enclosed space made me uncomfortable. I had to memorize the location of objects in the room, but the questions were about the items on the table. Time ran out before I could reach it, and the closed environment felt unsettling to me.
