How does your game fit the theme?
MMORPGs are built to scale; our game's narrative is about when the size of the player base doesn't match. It is itself a small snapshot of a much larger world.

This is so so clever, love the idea of the narrative unfolding in chat! Brought me back for sure 🥹

Seems like a good idea, but my game kept crashing unfortunately :(

I got so scared cause I actually thought it was an online game made in 96h. Then I read the game page and finally understood that the chat is where story happens, this is so clever and creative! Good job!

Very impressive you managed to get networking set up for a jam game! The style was charming too, well done all around!

Game crashes a lot... Couldn't really play sadly. But I really like the idea!

Developer(+1)

That's unfortunate, but I'm glad you enjoyed the idea. The downloadable version for Windows might be more stable, if you're able to try it!

really cool idea, had a few crashes but didnt stop me enjoying

Ooh this game is so cute! I like how it does feel like a snapshot of a larger MMO world

This was very unique!  The chatbox was hilarious to read, haha

Interesting idea! Definitely unique experience for me :D

i adore this game my favorite in the jam so far the gameplay was maybe very simple but it was really cool to follow the story I was feelling nostalgia even though i don't play mmo's

Fun fact: Gnoms are almost everywhere if you "gnow" where to look

This really bring the childhood back to me, when I sat and played the same levle hundreds of times lol.

the interpretion of theme is great, like beyond my brain. I love this game though it almost crashed my browser or what

There were problems using skills, for some reason everything was laggy

The concept is interesting. Will you continue to work on it?

Submitted(+4)

This was very unique! Lot's of nostalgia, thanks for making it <3

Neat game! I couldn't get into a lot of the early 2000s MMOs, but this nonetheless hit me right in the nostalgia feels. I wish the gameplay had a bit more depth to it, but I guess that wouldn't be very 2000s MMO-like, huh? Haha! The narrative was very personal, and I'm glad I gave it a chance and saw it through to the end. Wholesome game!

This was very cool and interesting! I am honestly impressed with the amount of writing that was put into it. Music loops were short but some how did not get on my nerves which is honestly impressive. Also really enjoyed the story and characters, it took me back to playing MMOs : ) Great work the lot of ya!

oh this is so unique and cool! :D fantastically well-executed and that dialogue and chat in general is just shockingly realistic and im super impressed lol. great job :3

Enjoyed this so much! I don't have an mmorpg background but got emotional anyway.  I'm sure that's due to solid character writing and music. I gave 5 for everything (though it's quite generic style wise...I understand that's advantageous for folk to be able to relate). I think this idea is worth fleshing out with a bit more gameplay and defined visual identity, if you wanted! Could tell a really cool, in-depth story here, and it's surprisingly fun to take it in while reading  the silly world chat stuff and grinding.

Very creative concept and interpretation of the theme! The NPCs are pretty funny as well. I'm too young to feel nostalgic about this era though. Do wish there were more fun things to do though, and the spells freeze the game like crazy. Love the art style though, and it's very unique!

Wow, as others have pointed out, we were really impressed that you pulled off an MMO for the jam. Nice job!The art style and music are fantastic—they draw you in and immerse you in the game! There was a slight issue, though, when we tried to cast a spell, our Chrome crashed.

I wasn't so sure of what i was going to see at first but i see that it was the idea of the game that was scaled ! Really clever interpretation of the theme ! I can also say that you managed to even scale the bugs as when I tried to cast a spell it crashed my chrome process XD

Great job
