This is an impressive project for 96 hours! I enjoyed the variety of levels and the lush art design. I do have a few pieces of criticism though, which I hope will be helpful (though keep in mind this is only my opinion!):
- The controls felt a little clunky at times. I think the main issue is that the player moves too fast, which made segments where you have to jump between thin platforms frustrating.
- In one of the levels, I kept falling down and activating the first checkpoint, overriding the checkpoint I had reached higher up and forcing me to climb all the way back up the level to try again. I don't blame you for this one - my game does it too! - but it's an easy oversight to make, so I thought it would be good to let you know.
- I think the "repairing checkpoints" system is flawed. Because you lose bolts upon death, which will potentially prevent you from activating future checkpoints, this system punishes players who die more often, despite those players being the ones who need checkpoints the most. Luckily, because there are so many bolts in the levels, and because you don't lose many on death, this shouldn't ever become an issue for anyone, but it's something to keep in mind.
- I found the last level quite frustrating due to the relative lack of checkpoints and precise jumps.
- This one's just me being confused, but are you supposed to be able to keep "repairing" the observatory at the end forever? The animation kept playing but my bolts weren't going down and nothing else seemed to be happening, so I just left the level.
Good work on this overall, though! I had a good time playing it, and it has a larger scope than I might expect for a game jam game.
thank you for the feedback and taking the time! Your criticisms are very valid and we will definitely look to address it! One question about the movement:
Do you feel like slowing the movement would be better, or stretching and making the level bigger to fit the fast move speed would be better?
Nice animations and effects, I enjoyed it.
The platforming felt really good for a jam game: speed, control, gravity, wall jumps, double jump (and I think there's also slight coyote time) - it all makes for a very pleasant experience. The theme is used loosely, but I don't think there's anything wrong with that (not every game need to have literal building and/or scaling).
Visuals, music and audio are great and alongside the story make a very cohesive package. Nicely done :)
I wanna try the game but the game keeps freezing around the double jump tutorial sign :(
From what I've seen though, the atmosphere is great, as are the controls, and I trust the other comments that this is a great game!
hey,
Thank you for trying! The issue is an issue with how godot exports work for browser so if you want to try again the downloadable export for windows doesn't have the issue
One of the better feeling platformers I have played in a jam (and I have played a LOT of them).
Great job on the visuals, too!
thank you so much for the kind words!
Super tight controls, very nice presentation and storytelling, great job! :)
thank you for taking the time :)
Wow, the art looks great, and the controls are tight well done!
thank you!
What an amazing narrative storytelling through visuals. Gorgeous art direction. Appreciate the very fluid platforming feeling, got me hooked longer than what I intended to play. Great job on this one. :)
really appreciate the kind words!
Love the style and mechanics ! Thanks for giving the double jump right away !!
thank you for playing!
The controls are really fluid and satisfying, the world art and level design is so good -- very polished, well done!
thank you :)
I really like the artstyle and gameplay! I also liked the story telling too! Awesome game!
thank you so much for playing!
Gorgeous artstyle! The platforming was also really fun and I like the interpretation of "scale" as climb!
appreciate you taking the time!
This was really well polished! I'm not good a platformers so I couldn't make it all the way through, but I love the mechanic of finding the spare parts to repair checkpoints for the extra challenge. The artwork, the animations, the music and ambiance. It is all so well crafted. Great job!
thank you for the kind words and taking the time to play
I’m a great fan of platformers and let me tell you this one is really satisfying to play through, you nailed movement and this is not easy to nail on platformers, I specially like the wall grabbing mechanic. I also appreciate the tip at the launchpads, where you hint we can just walk into them to save the first jump!
The answer must lie in the observatory!
thank you for the feedback! glad our focus on the movement paid off a bit :D
Impressive game for 4 days and I loved the visuals!
thank you for taking the time!
I would have loved to explore the game but sadly I also have the bug at the sign :( looks and feels nice though
So this is an issue with the way godot exports to html games I think. Shaders & particles are compiled and loaded for the first time they are called which leads to a freeze / lag spike. For most players / browsers this freeze ends and the game is fine after. The windows export will not have this issue if you do want to give it another shot. Thank you for the time regardless!
Didn't see that there was a build! I enjoyed it :)
thank you for playing :D
I kept getting a bug where when I double jumped at the sign that tells the player they can double jump, the game freezes and I have to close the browser. I looks like a really cute game and the gameplay feels really smooth but I wasn't able to get very far.
Tried it three times and the game froze each time. Only at the sign talking about double jumping. I could jump lots of times everywhere else though.

I went ahead and downloaded it and its very cute! Its a fun little platformer and the gameplay mechanics are very smooth. Great job!! Glad I was able to play it
really appreciate the kind words!
I like the aesthetics of your game, both cozy and postapocalyptic! The signs and comments were also so cool, especially about the sock market :D
The way the character moves, runs and jumps feels so satisfying. I would love to play to the end, but some parts were unfortunately a bit difficult for me. I would be happy to have checkpoints after the hardest parts, as sometimes you were to make lots of hard jumps in a row but the next checkpoint was a bit too far. I also noticed that I get to some flags but later they looked like I haven't visited them yet. Do they reset after a while?
Very cool experience!
thank you for the feedback! we definitely want to change the level design a bit in retrospect in response to this feedback
Wow, very good style and atmosphere! The controls are also great.
thank you for taking the time
Very pretty and polished experience, can't really fault this in any way. Too bad I'm no good at this kind of game, I wanted to see the end!
thank you for playing!
