How does your game fit the theme?
The player is a lab rat with a ray gun that can take and give mass. The player uses the ray gun to solve puzzles and to grow the end prize—a delectable cheese wedge. The score for each level is based on how many grams of cheese the player manages to eat.

I know working on 3d is so hard within a given time so congratulations for getting an entire game done in such a short space. It ended out incredible. Mmmmmm cheese. Sometimes audio was loud but I still had fun :)
The game runs so poorly I couldn't play it :(
Also the mouse noises and voices are a bit annoying.
But the concept seems nice enough, and the game's thumbnail is epic.
Oh no! I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience. If you have the time, would you be so kind as to tell me what your specific issue was? Framerate? Controls? Physics errors? Missing mechanics? We'd love to have an opportunity to address those issues in a later build.
I'm glad you liked the artwork though! You can thank our art director Nicholas Roberts for the character design. He's an incredible artist. https://nickroberts.art/work
Well I was getting a steady 5-10 frames per second. And I don't have a terrible laptop either, I have an 11th gen i5 and an RTX 3060.
That is preposterous! I'm so sorry the framerate was so terrible. We definitely didn't optimize, but I'm consistently getting ~50 FPS on my laptop. I have a 9th gen i7 and RTX 2060. We'll need to investigate that one. Thank you again for your feedback.
Good luck :)
Every part of this game is very well-put together. The art, the music, the puzzles -- it all works together beautifully! Honestly, perhaps even more impressive still is how you were able to coordinate 15 people. That isn't easy to do for a 4-day project!
Thank you for playing! You are very kind. I must thank my team and a handful of good collaboration tools for this project. We used Gather.town as a virtual office space so we could work with each other at desks and coworking spaces. Everyone on the team is passionate and self-driven. Each one took so much ownership over the game.
One of the more interesting "mouse/rat" games! Love the interpretation of the theme. The music is amazing, artstyle is topnotch, puzzles are excellent. Like a combination of Portal, Stanley Parable, BotW/ToTK shrine puzzles.
Honestly what I loved the most was the dialogues! Some issues with overlapping but I kept wanting to play more so I could hear more of the dialogues! The script is very funny and clever and love the voice acting. The writing and even the Title sounds like a professionally written game. Wish there was more story.
Thank you for playing our game! Those are three of my all time favorite games, so I'm honored! And I'm very proud of the writers on our team, Michael Tobin and Jason Lee—both classically trained writers and outstanding men.
This was delightful! Gorgeous art, nice music, story progression!
Gameplay mechanics are similar to those which we use in our submission, so it was interesting to see how different those games are :)
For example, I thought to take a cube with myself on level 3 in first area. But it just slept, it seems. When the large box resized the cube stayed inside of it. But sometimes it don't.
But overall it was a clean experience! Smooth controls. Art direction is a top notch!
But I wish I could to disable this shader. It made me a little dizzy 😵💫
Thank you for playing! I really appreciate your feedback! I'll have to check out your submission soon. And yes, I think it's the motion blur that's making it nauseating. We'll take a look into that after the judging!
Love the level environments, very cute!
Thank you! Nicholas Roberts is an incredible art director, and Brandon Ruffin is an outstanding 3D artist. You have them to thank!
Super awesome concept. Portal with scales!
Thank you very much for your kind words. And yes! Portal already feels like you're a lab rat for an AI, so it makes sense!
oooo, I really like the take on the theme and the way I felt I was getting stronger as I played.
Thank you for playing, and for your kind words!
I can't see the beam vfx. There seems to be a bug in the beam sfx because I keep hearing it even if I wasn't shooting. On the bright side, I love the bgm, it was pretty nice to hear it even in loop. It was something that is nice in the ear. The puzzle is fun to solve. I'm having a similar vibe from Stanley Parable. Overall this is a good game. The theme is also on point. The big downside is, in my personal opinion, if you're making a game for game jam, do not use Unreal Engine, because people don't like to download the game and do those steps just to play your game. Also it could be potential malware.
Thank you for playing! These are all great suggestions. Especially the note about making it playable directly through Itch. We will keep that in mind for the next round!
Love the idea of being a lab rat being trained to use a ray gun to solve puzzles. The music evokes a sense of hope (in becoming more intelligent?) while the dialogues were a very fitting comedic addition!
Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Our composer, Kelly Thiessen (TrashCatMusic) knocked it out of the park. https://www.trashcatmusic.com
the idea of using scale as a form of energy is a brilliant interpretation of the 'built to scale' theme. although there were a couple of minor issues with overlapping dialogue, the writing was clever, and the voice acting was superb! the concept of a lab rat undergoing trials and experiments was perfectly executed, and i absolutely love the title. using unreal engine for a game jam sounds like a daunting task, but your team did an outstanding job pulling it off!
Thank you for playing! I really appreciate your feedback; just a few tweaks to the pacing and our dialogue manager should do the trick!
This is a really creative idea for a game. Very cool art style as well, the only problem for me was the extreme motion blur. Otherwise wonderful game.
Thank you for playing! Oh, that's a good point. I always appreciate it when games default their motion blur to zero or something low. It can be so distracting—or worse, sickening.
It would even just be nice if they put a toggle to turn on and off the motion blur
I wholeheartedly agree.
Amazing game! I love the idea of a rat making things bigger or smaller! The voices are also funny haha! The sounds are spot ON! I could not solve the third puzzle tho, I couldn't figure out what to do. I thought of throwing the dice but I couldn't make it land on the button on the other side. :( Maybe a button to reset sizes of objects so you can have more agency on how much energy you have as right now you have to guess the size of objects to regain energy! Also a way to make an object get closer or farther to the player could be great. I lovee the idea so much! It has the potential for a full fledged game to be honest!!! Great work!
Thanks for playing! A reset mechanic and push and pull would be excellent additions.
For the third puzzle: Did you try using the S.C.A.L.E. Gun to climb over the wall?
I did! But I could not scale it enough to jump across! I tried putting the die on top but it was quite difficult to do it as the die fell over! Still great game!
Hmm, it sounds like you didn't find enough mass to grow the box! I wonder if you found all of the objects in the first area, one of them is pretty sneaky (it's high up).
