This is a really cool and unique idea. There's consequences to picking up weapons and consequences to absorbing them again. The player has to be creative about when and how to pick up weapons. Nice work! With some more features and polish, this could be a really fun full game!

The idea that you grow with the weapons you pick up is quite interesting. I agree with the commenter below that extending player hitbox with the weapon is too much of a punishment. I feel it’s enough that you are blocked from the certain passages and thus certain pickups.

I also think it’s a good idea to add some more benefit to consuming a weapon. Maybe you regain hp when you do so. Because right now this mechanic feels punishing because you lose your source of damage, instead of feeling rewarding.

I like that there’s a variety of weapons, but I feel like there are a couple of really good once and most of the others feel underwhelming. So it becomes a matter of luck whether you can get a weapon that can consistently kill enemies.

Overall, it’s a pretty fun game. Good job!

I'll try to work more on this game so thanks for feedback!

The concept is interesting. It gets wild really quickly!

The issue that I have, is that each new weapon becomes part of the hit box of the player, making us more and more vulnerable.

The idea reminds me of Mothergunship :-)

The fact that your hitbox becomes bigger was the idea but maybe I need to balance it a bit better. Thanks for feedback!

Love how whacky you get when covered in weapons, music and style are fun.  I wish I had a weapon fire button as separate from "consume"--I wanted to time certain attacks to enemies positions for fast-paced combat  but had to wait until they fired.  I also wonder if this concept was explored further if the weapons could have both benefits and consequences - maybe certain weapons would richocet off walls and hit you, so you maybe choose to absorb them after they outlive their usefulness.  Nicely done overall!

These are some nice ideas! I'll try to work a bit on this game after the jam ends so maybe i'll implement them.

Nice one! I really like the graphics/style. The gameplay is solid as well, but I would have preferred a minimap to orient better as to where I need to go. Nice job overall!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I wanted to make a minimap but didnt have time :(

I really enjoyed the gameplay! I was always being surprised with new weapons and i was ecstatic when i got high kill counts!

I like how the game has a sort of balance between wanting to pick up more weapons to be more powerful but needing to absorb some to move around. I do wish the camera was a bit more zoomed out, but it works, and I think it executed on the theme really well. Good job!

I really liked the weapon variety in this. Along with just all the different enemy types, though unlike the weapons most of them having the same behaviour. I wish I could control the camera zoom a bit more effectively as at times it felt like I was panic running away from hordes which I tried to dodge by fitting into a smaller gap, which lead to me being lost.

Either way, fun game. Would love to see a polished up version if you're hoping to do stuff after the jam.

Thanks! I will try to polish this game and balance it a bit better!

Fun idea!! A spin on the Vampire Survivor genre. Would love to see some polish on this idea in the future!

Thank you!

Nice idea! Kind of cranky but it could  very well be developed into an awesome game! Good Job :D
