Very cool and original idea!

Amazing game mechanics and concept, had to say it's the best game I've played for GMTK 2024. Great job!

when i opened the game i was instantly excited by the mechanics, not really sure how much it fit the theme, and i wished there was a level which required you to manually move time instead of every puzzle being ideal to solve on 0.25 loop mode besides the rotate one and the final puzzle was sadly a drag, overall great concept that would benefit from some cleaner and more tricky puzzles

Brilliant concept! :D Really enjoyed it!

It's a "video" game as much as a "video player" game :P

Thanks for playing!

Yeah that was my idea for the title. I'm bad at giving name to my games xP

This is a very cool concept! And the fact that you can naturally discover the mechanics by just knowing Youtube’s UI is pretty sick.

The platformer gameplay is a little lacking. I don’t really like how floaty the jump is and that you can’t fall through platforms if you press [S] mid-jump. (Hey, there’s this gmtk guy who has a really good video on platformer controls :)

And it’s my personal feeling, but I thing the game would be more engaging if you controlled the UI by mouse like you regularly do. Right now it takes a lot of time just walking from one side of the screen to the next. And when you just opened the game, it’s hard understand that you need to go to the play button to press it, and not just press [E].

It’s also a little annoying that UI resets on level change, because you probably always want “loop” on. And it would be better if captions showed where they are going to appear because right now you just have to guess the timing.

All in all, it’s a really creative entry!

Thanks for such detailed feedback!
Acually at first, I made the UI to be controled by mouse but I changed it because I thought it would be too easy xd.
I also forgot about the UI reset. That was my mistake! Will fix later.
Again, thanks so much!

Very creative concept here, I like that not everything is explained explicitly, and everything (except levels) is unlocked from the start. Yet I naturally discovered these functionalities when they become relevant, this design is really brilliant.

I'm not sure how it fits the theme and the game could have some sound effects, but it's a very solid entry regardless.

Developer

Thanks so much!

In this game, you have to manipulate the stage by using UI to "scale" the video timeline, that's why I think it would fit the theme.

Agreed, I have to put more sound effects. I was short on time back then.

This is what I call originality! I felt a tiny bit lost at first but I think it's a good thing to not explain to much on gameplay, discovering how things work by yourself is a very good feeling, congrats!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Also, I love your game so much!
