This was a ton of fun to play, I loved how forgiving it was - gave me a chance to experiment. I would play a full version of this game!
This is a fun little game ! I really liked the concept and the gameplay is satisfying. Great entry all in all !! :D
Thanks for playing!
This idea is being converted into a Steam Release. Check it out! :D

Ok, it was shameful defeat in the first game :D it was so bad that I am not even going to share the result :D
The game is really awesome and the concept is truly unique in this Game Jam!)
Great job!
Thanks for giving it a go 😀
Wow, what a great game! I really appreciated the "how to play" video you made, as it made it much easier to get started. The game is so great for its simplicity and intuitiveness. Overall it's just really fun to play. Great work!
Thanks for playing! :D
Yep, I want this as a full-on deck-builder. It's so simple, beautiful. I think your game could be easily explained with a practice level. I didn't read your description, and I figured out how to play very quickly after my first loss. After that? Masterpiece. Excellent submission I will be playing this more after I get through my queue!
Totally! ;) Thanks for playing and I agree, an interactive tutorial of sort is missing and would help get players up-to-speed quickly.
We are turning it into a full fledge game. Check it out: :D

I would actually really want to play this as a full fledge game, super fun concept and enjoyed the execution of the randomness! Art was great of course, and I got hooked on trying to get my guys to evolve. Actually my favorite game in the jam so far!
Thanks for playing and for the kind comment! I'm working on a post-jam version for sure :D

Here's the info: https://prodigalson.itch.io/attack-on-hex-island
This game has kept me playing for a couple of minutes. I like the concept and art very much.
Sweet! Thanks for playing :D
Addictive as the card game in FF9!
The evolution concept is an interesting addition which add even more replayability and progression.
But the fire-water-grass mechanic seems too much for me as I didn't use it (maybe i am too used to FF9 card game as I play it a lot :p)
Then you were well equipped to play this game :)
I should've spent more time balancing the game and making the evolutions have more of an impact as well as the elemental boost like an extra animation at the end splashing water, razor leaves, or blowtorch effects. Maybe post jam 🤔
Thanks for playing!
It reminds me a lot of triple triad, a card game in final fantasy 8 and 14 ! The concept is interesting but sadly like triple triad its hard for me to figure out what is going on exactly :/ At least the AI seems to know how to play better than I do lol
Bingo! That and Tetra Master was my inspiration for this game with a combination of Pokémon battles :) Thanks for playing! I understand it can be challenging at first to know what is happening.
The game page explains how to play. I'm still in the process of updating it to have all the images to help visually explain it better.
Thanks again for playing.
Fun game! I enjoyed rock-paper-scissors aspect to the battle system. It added a lot more thinking before a car was played. The AI was well programmed too, took me a few games before I could defeat it
Thanks Ian! Thanks for playing. I wonder if I made the AI a bit too hard for the jam 🤔
😊
Fun
Thanks
I really enjoyed this game! (^u^)
Thanks for playing :)
Nice game but I don't see how this game fits the theme
Thanks for playing. Sorry it wasn't very clear. Everything from the cards, their stats, and outcome of the battle is all done by the roll of a dice.
The gamepage explains how to play. Itch was having issues uploading images so I couldn't get all of them to help visually explain it better. Now that they are showing, I'll update it later. :)
The Monsters are cool and the battle mechanic is cool, albeit a bit confusing. Really stretching the theme though.
Thanks for playing, sorry about the confusion 😕

Cool idea
bit confusing at first. but a cool and enjoyable concept.
but i dont really get how the theme fits in.
Thanks for paying. Sorry about the confusion. 😞 though I couldn't display it in game, everything from your cards, their stats, and outcome of the battle is all determined by the roll of a dice.

I like the monsters. To fit the theme better I would have shown the dice that are rolled. A simple tutorial would help to get started. The game mechanic is fun. And my highlight is Evolution time!
Thanks for playing and your feedback. That was a todo item but didn't find a fun way to display it so I cut it in favor of allowing time for everything else. (Showing the dice)
