How does your game fit the theme?
By rolling a dice you are able to do an unexpected (just like rolling a dice) changes to the level and character movement (moving platforms, stopping time, Changing gravity, Changing player speed... I tried making it more random but I ran out of time.

I liked the aesthetic, reminded me very much of Limbo's palette. Did make it a bit hard to see visual elements in some levels though (nearly missed the lever in 'two places at once')
Others have already commented in regards the theme so I won't rehash things there. As a non-design note, my comp struggled to play this very smoothly so not sure if that's the engine used or what... But maybe something to keep in mind for the future?
(though ofc I know optimisation is something we seldom have time for in these brief 48 hours >w<)
Even with the frame-skipping I managed to clear a good number of levels though.
Overall I had fun~
Even despite my hardware struggling XD
Good job
So overall I liked the game and had fun with it, the visuals look really clean and are nice to look at, the SFX and music are good too. The theme is used sparingly and could maybe make it closer by making the abilities random somehow. Controlling the player was fine but I wasn't a fan of the player moving in the last direction when jumping, for example when I was moving right and I jumped, I thought I'd stop moving mid air when letting go of right but it just kept going. Also I think the platform with the dice on the level with the gravity introduction has a missing collider?
Yes, I tried making it random but I simply ran out of time. All the small bugs you noticed are normal thing during gamejams. (I had this game project open for only 19 hours). The dice does not have collision in all levels. Thanks for playing!
I couldn't play the game on my pc, the creator made me a showcase on discord and i loved it, good job and thanks
Thanks :)
This is so aesthetically impressive -- it's amazing too because there's not even a character model, yet it still looks and sounds fantastic (I gotta say I'm usually really unimpressed with the music in these jam games, but here it works great for the atmosphere; good job composer). The idea itself is also really nothing like anything else in the jam -- though probably because it plays pretty loose with he theme.
I did start running into some issues on the level "Both Places At The Same Time". First, I was just very stuck, not knowing what to do. Eventually, I did figure out there was a lever, which was more hidden because it was obscured by a vine. But then I started encountering some bugs when flipping the map around, going and clipping into the floor. And each time I reset, it'd just keep happening, so I eventually figured out that if I jumped before flipping, I could stay inbounds. Most likely the problem is my laptop can't handle the game, so it's dropping some important frames where collision is being checked. But yeah, game jam game, so bugs are understandable.
Unfortunately this bug wasn't fixed because of me running out of time. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks for constructive review!
Nice set of minigames, even though the dice roll is not really a part of a gameplay, it's more of "activate a level-specific ability" concept. Also, the game's a bit laggy. Really loved that the gravity doesn't change instantly, but rather actually rotates the whole level. Love the visuals though, and the sound is nice as well.
As it says in theme game description: 'By rolling a dice you are able to do an unexpected (just like rolling a dice) changes to the level and character movement (moving platforms, stopping time, Changing gravity, Changing player speed... I tried making it more random but I ran out of time.'
Thanks for playing!
pretty decent game, good atmosphere and sounds, but in my opinion the player was too fast and a restart button was missing, but overall, good job!
Restart button is in pause menu after pressing 'esc' Thanks for playing!
Great graphics and atmosphere! All the dice roll effects have some wow effect to them (my favorite was time stop).
I, unfortunatly, got stuck on one of the levels and couldn't continue. If feels like physics are getting a bit wonky when levelflip effect happens, and I was getting stuck in the wall as a result.
Still - a very cool game.
Yes, this bug can often mess up the experience. I tried to patch it but I had absolutely no idea how. Instead I added pause menu when pressing 'esc' that allows you to restart the level. Thanks for playing!
This game is visually appealing, fun to play, and the levels have nice lil' puzzles.
I know at least one other person mentioned it, but I feel like this game is not really using the theme, and the reason that has been given that it does is a pretty big stretch. The effects to the level/player are not "a roll of a die" because they are completely pre-determined and static. I feel like a slight tweak could have made it more thematically appropriate, such as having the R key give 1 out of X possible abilities each level, or having the ability given being slightly different each attempt (such as Double Jump being more "floaty" in one iteration than another).
Regardless though, I do think that it's fun, and really that's what matters most. I hope that you decide to expand upon this idea in the future!
The mechanic you mentioned is what I was trying to implement - sadly when I did all the levels it was too much work to do and I was afraid that when the gamejam will end I won't complete this for the rest of the maps. I wanted to create some kind of cooldown on the rolling: it will give you some effect for 3 seconds and then you can roll again. As I mentioned before I was running out of time and I was really scared that I will mess things up. Thanks for playing the game!
Absolutely lovely game. The physics are fun and I appreciate the unique take on the theme. Amazing
Thanks!
I love visuals.Good job!
by the way could you play and rate my game?
Thanks! Of course I will play your game :)
Love the visuals and vibe this game gives of. Great entry and potential for an actual release.
Thank you so much!
Cool idea! Love the Limbo visuals. Maybe it would be more fun to figure out yourself what your random power is each level. Adds to the problem solving. I played until the box level where gravity flips. That's where I got stuck xD
Yeah that's the bug but you can always press esc to bring pause menu. You can restart the level from there. Sorry for the inconvinience!
Yup I give this 15/15 because its original. sets the mood. feels like a complete adventure. works well and looks great. I was happy and impressed with it. I almost gave up at the end there with the double jump then had an ahah moment. the only level I didnt understand was the double flip one were suddenly I was underground at the die.
Thanks for 15/15!
This game felt and looked so nice! I needed to turn up my brightness to see everything, but it's all good!
That's what most of people say but I needed to make it darker for levers to be harder to notice! Thanks for opinion!
I like the whole Limbo meets thomas was alone artstyle we got goinon here XD very gloomy vibes indeed and the music fit the mood so yeah a very polished game!
Thanks!
which engine did you use tho?
Unreal Engine
The Game was super. Its great. Art was really super the feel, effects etc.. A amazing game under 48 hours its good.
Thanks!
I really loved the style, you were right. Really reminded me of Limbo. The movement felt a bit unnatural at times, and I would have preferred a more randomized approach. So yeah, a bit linear in my opinion, but puts the base for a more refined product! Try to spend some more time on it after the jam ends! :D
Thanks!
Fun puzzle game. Visually amazing. Movement was a little too slidey and I wish some of the levels let you reuse the R instead of needing to restart the entire level. That aside, the ideas are fun, the puzzles are interesting, and I liked that each level had a unique mechanic. Great job!
Thanks!
Really well presented, and lots of variety in the levels. Great polish for a jam game!
