Cute game! Love that we weren’t the only ones writing a game for obsolete nintendo hardware :P.
The character hitbox felt a bit off, but some of the jumps were interesting to try and land. Liked the random generation too :)
I guess there were a few bugs that made it a bit hard to play but I liked what you tried to do and the dices look cute.
The minimalistic art in the game works really well, having all the tiles in the map be little dice is so charming : )
The control is really weird, the player collision is kinda big i couldn't pass through some holes but overall it was pretty nice platformer
I suggest to invest more time in page description once the submission is closed!
It's a simple nice platformer. Other than the strange control set-up, and the some what janky movement, it's pretty good.
Nice game, it looks like you made it in Pico8 but i didnt see the Pico8 starting animation. Also at the start of the game i feel like i was lucky that figure i can move the cursor with keys not mouse. Also the movement was kinda weird. But i loved the style :D
P.S I would appreciate if you would check out our game :)
It was made in GBstudio 3.0
Movement is a bit clunky, but it is a good entry for your first jam!
Enjoyable to see how you used the theme.
I think this world made of dice deserves a soundtrack.
I really enjoyed this, it was challenging to actually figure out how to use the game's system to reach the end.
Fun game, I would love to learn more about how you did the procedural generation.
well im not very good at game making so i didnt use Procedural generation to make levels i for the second and last level i made two versions you can get cave or jungle pleatue and volcano or heck if i had more time the RNG would be better with branching paths, but i procrastinated alot
Congratulations on finishing your jam game!
Since this was a basic platformer, I would look into the common ways platformers improve their controls and game feel. GMTK already made a great video about this you should check out.
I also wished there was an easter egg at the bottom of the volcano, a good way to reward the player for exploring in an unconventional direction (although you would then have to worry about players jumping into every hole just to check).
Cure aesthetics.
But I agree with the above. Unfortunately, I got frustrated with the colliders and platforming movement. And it might have also been good to have all blocks that are walkable as bright versus alternating bright and dark on some bridges as it made me worried I would fall through.
