How does your game fit the theme?
In my game, you play as a die that rolls around trying to reach the goal. There's just one catch: you can only move by exploding.

WOOOW that's great! Creative, fun, brutal!

One of the best designed games I played in the Jam.  It was really fun and I played pretty long.  The mechanics were great and the UI and tutorials were above and beyond.

Great idea, I love novel movement mechanics and this was a neat take on a golf game.  Pulling off interesting combo moves like the jump or diagonal moves felt great, but I couldn't help but feel that the variable dice force put a bit of a damper on creative shots and sort of forced me into certain moves. Perhaps more open-ended level design would help, where you have more possible routes to your goal and things you can try and bounce off to alleviate the randomness, or even a mechanic where you can 're-roll' on the spot at the cost of a move.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! More open-ended levels and a re-roll option would be fantastic additions, I'll look into both :)

Great job on presentation. Amazing how over-the-top and larger-than-life you can make a small cube moving across a desk

Rocket dice, you say? It's really cool seeing just how differently people can execute ideas that seem similar on paper, but turn into wildly different games. I had a lot of fun navigating the different levels, and apart from the DOF making some of the larger levels a bit blurry, the game looks great!

You really embraced the theme in a creative and fun way! Also the game is beautiful, nice job!

Wow.

This is extremely fun. I think that there is a lot that you could do with this idea.

The game play is very creative; obviously your idea is very excellent.

I think the level design can be better probably, especially for that sofa level; just, I was stucked at the gap of sofa, and can't see the faces which are touching the surface of sofa, and after pressed a series of number keys, my dice is successfully dropped on the floor, and can't go on anymore :p.

That level where you need to "jump" then accelerate forward is very impressive. Nice job.

That was a really fun yet challenging game! The rocket jumping mechanic was super cool and gives a lot of potential for some fast-paced puzzles.

I liked the "trailer-like" intro and just moving around with those explosions was a lot of fun. As for the nitpicking - due to the face, that exploding a dice moves you in one of 4 (5 including up) directions it was sometimes hard to just "turn" to get to the circle.

It can be super frustrating when you get right on the edge of the goal with a 6 as your only option 😤 One thing I discovered that helps with this is that you can explode opposing faces simultaneously to cancel out some of the force. You can also explode the top face to do the same thing. This can reduce even a 6 to the power of a 1.

Ooh, nice, didn't think of that!

Fantastic game, Josh. It was excellently presented. Clean UI and I love what you did in the tutorial level. The camera angles and transitions were super cool. The die roll and jump mechanics were well put together. As the levels progress and I get more comfortable with the game, it's actually made me clear the later/harder levels with fewer movements, I don't know, maybe I'm just too good at playing this :D Also, cool ending. I had a lot of fun playing this. Congratulations on this awesome game! Great job.

Thanks so much for the kind words!

Pretty fun puzzle games, I agree with Jirun that the DOF is really high and makes everything a bit blurry would have preferred if it would be toned town. Other than that great idea and great execution :)

Developer

I'll make the DOF optional in a later version. Thanks so much!

The level design, mechanics, and music choice are just massive fun. The chaotic nature of the game really shines through it all. Massive big ups.

Personally, I would prefer to lower the intensity of DoF, or at least have an option to turn it off. Also, a last-position recovery mechanic is nice to have imo.  Still, it's not that disruptive and the game still has a lot to offer. Well done.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Those are some great suggestions, I'll add them next time I work on the game. Thank you for the feedback and for playing!

Great. It is Fun. I think add ui to show the circle direction will better.

Developer

Great suggestion, I agree 100%
