How does your game fit the theme?
Upgrading your turrets relies on stopping the dice on a high number (>=4). Accidentally click a lower number, and your lousy space contractor might damage your turret, downgrading it!

How do you make the dice stop??

Developer

all you have to do to make the dice stop is to click it! whatever number it shows when you click it determines the outcome of the upgrade. 1-3 will downgrade, 4-6 will upgrade. hope this helps!

Right now, directly into top 2. Yes… there are bugs, but the game-play is simple and really good. Great job. Enjoyment 5/5.

Graphics was of fantastic quality, UI design is not clear at all.

The game could use some labeling for ui elements, or at least put them in a tutorial sheet.

The direction of enemy path is not clear. I have mistaken the end as the beginning and had to reset due to very tight room for failure in wave 1.

I can see that the tight income capacity is intentional, for the interesting trade-off for random contractor quality, but it also double as a steep difficulty curve for new players, if they didn't play good enough at the start of the game. It is a very difficult task to balance the early game perfectly, so no pressure for that. (also i m bad at this game)

Upgrades directly reflect on the tower's skin. It is great but i have no idea what "1" and "6" is regarding the dice throw. How much stronger does the tower get, or how much better than the next tier of tower? It is very difficult to catch the info during a short playthrough.
(Just read some more text, and i saw "Accidentally click a lower number, and your lousy space contractor might damage your turret, downgrading it!". So it does not determine the quality, but just success or not! Now i see.)

When i get off work i can spend  bit more time and perhaps I will learn more about this game

I love the presentation of this game, it looks great. The concept is interesting, but the rate at which you gain money felt slow. As a result paying for the dice based upgrade always felt like a better option than buying a turret (but maybe that's the point!). Good Job!

Very nice, i like that the turrets change when they get upgraded , too bad i wasn't very lucky so i couldnt get past the end waves haha, very nice game, would be nice if you could also upgrade your base so you can take more hits? congratulations on submitting your game in time !

Really impressive art choice, despite a little bit of inconsistencies. Gameplay is a bit confusing and I have to go back to the game's page to read the rules, and in such short timespan of the jam this is understandable. As you have stated in the comment section, this is your first game jam but I think it is already better than most of the games here so keep it up! Overall I love it!

Very smart idea to make the upgrades cheap and the strong turret purchase expensive. Makes you want to use the luck based systems more! The timing is also good on the dice rolls, not too easy, not impossible.

Only thing missing for me was more UI. Seeing the health of enemies, the level of my turret etc. Ofc, I understand the time limitations, but if you want to take it further, I think this is the most missing thing.

It looks very nice, the effects and assets fit the game very well.

Really like the style and the sounds. Also the game is quite challenging, which is good. The upgrade mechanic is a nice idea. Pretty cool!

The only thing I found is that you have to quit the game after you lost because it just keeps going back to the menu.

Developer

thanks for playing and for your lovely comment!

unfortunately, i ran out of time before the deadline to properly implement win/lose states. this is something i plan on fixing once the voting period is over though. thanks again!

Even if the art and music was premade, it's all put together extremely well and looks fantastic! I liked that the "rolling" of the upgrade mechanic was actually interactive, definitely much better than if it was just an automatic roll. Flesh out the rest of the game more and it could be solid fun!

Developer

thanks! we plan on fleshing it out a bit more after the voting period, this was my first jam, and the deadline came a lot quicker than i was expecting, haha!

It looks nice, I like the track! An advance wave button would be nice :3

Nice tower defence game but I think It can be better if you explain player to how to play in the game. And also I found a bug its not restarting after game over scene. Nice work ^^

Congrats on publishing! Here are some critics I have:

- the game is pretty slow, even for a tower defense, and doesn't have a button to fast-forward

- the upgrade system is interesting but really punishing. I think it should fail only on 1 and 2, and succeed on 3 and above.

Otherwise it's very polished, with nice graphics and a pleasing soundtrack

Love the idea written on the page, however the implementation was a bit confusing in game with the discount giving on upgrades.  The look and feel was great, and would make a fantastic tower defence game post-jam if you decided to take it further.

Developer

thanks for playing! this was actually our first jam, so we're super stoked with the outcome.

we definitely plan on polishing it up a bit post-jam to make it a bit more fun to play :D
