A fun game! I know some people mentioned the text being slow, but personally I thought that the pacing of the game was perfect for the story that it was telling. Overall, the game felt like it was the beginning of a really intriguing experience, and I'm left wishing the I could see the next parts lol. Goodjob!
Thanks a lot!
The story was pretty engaging even though the game itself is pretty short.
If you have the time please check out our game.
i wish it had been more interactive, but it kept me engaged until i couldn't roll the dice once i came back from the phone call.
as many people pointed out printing the text faster would've been nice
also the font doesn't look nearly as nice as the art
nevertheless pretty fun, interesting, and for sure unique
good job!
nice story. it's a shame it's scripted. lack of possible interactions make it kinda boring.
I mean... it's not like you can make an unscripted narrative adventure? The script is sort of the point.
I agree but games need to at least have enough interactiveness to make the player feel like they're doing something. you can't even lose in the game, you just have one path and one path only. basically making this more of a story that you click to unpause than an actual game. no offense meant, but that's my honest opinion.
Cute little narrative game there is not much to comment regarding gameplay or design since is simplistic in its nature. There is an enjoyable story there that would probably benefit from an option to skip dialogue since I read faster than how much the animation takes. As a pixel artist myself I can appreciate the art and the sounds were good tho a bit unbalanced.
Good game overall.
I really like the game and narrative. I see people talk about speech sound effects but I couldn't hear any of that so maybe some balance on the noise is necessary😂
I would like it if we can skip the text animation. It was a bit slow. It adds the tension and dramatic effect but I would like if I would be able to change it ( I went back to replay to see if there is any randomization or other endings and would have loved to skip the same dialogues😂)
Other than that the game is actually really nice. The story is cool, and the art is really good.
So really good job!
Thanks a lot! Yeah, no randomization for a 48 hour jam game, better to put all the work into stuff everyone will play.
Really unique game - incredibly refreshing to play. Loved the narrative and was impressed by the presentation and animation throughout. The sound design was great too. My only gripe is that the ability to click to skip the text animation would be nice, as waiting for the next bit of text to appear before reading it can be annoying. Regardless, great game and good job!
the game is pretty good. and i love it,
Awesome game! A very well-rounded little narrative adventure, it feels complete to me.
I only have 3 little criticisms: there are a few spelling errors throughout; the audio levels are a bit unbalanced (I had to turn the volume up quite a bit to hear the text sound effect, but then compared to that, the flash sound and the ringtone are way too loud); and the displaying of text has this issue where the text tries to fit on one line, and if a word doesn't fit (such as the word "chance" in the 10th text box, or the word "optional" in the 22nd text box), then that word will display some of its characters on one line before the whole word then jumps to the next line as if it's being typed in a word processor in real time. The text should be programmed to include a built-in line break where it's needed instead of having jumping words like that.
Unlike others in the comments here, I actually found the text speed was perfect! The slow speed makes it dramatic, and it fits the momentous atmosphere. Other than the spelling issues, the dialogue was very well written. I found the story compelling and engaging!
Yeah, spelling errors are gonna sneak through if you write something this quickly. Same goes for the line breaks, just didn't have the time.
Not sure what happened to your audio, it seemed fine on my end. WebGL is a bit buggy when it comes to that, sadly.
But glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for playing!
I really liked this game. I was in no way expecting a horror game from this game jam. Good job!
Great execution of the theme! I loved the devil's vibes. If the text was a little faster that would be excellent, but this is an impressive showing for 48 hours!
So good! Great concept and plot (and a great ending), with a quality script too. Loved the adventure portion in the middle!
We're suckers for narrative adventures like this. Please make this into a full length game!!! You're already half way there!
This is a really interesting story! This could be really nice if there was more content. I really like the art style.
Wow, that was really interesting! I enjoyed the story. Maybe some branching paths could suit this game well. Great job!
Nice, I really liked this more story driven game, using the dice as a tool to push the story forward. But my god the text is sooooo slooooow... :D
This game was really good! The dialogue was nice and interesting and I want more of this universe! Perhaps a function to fast-foward dialogue would be nice, for people who replay the game. There really ins't anything bad I can say about this game!
Web build works for me so i'm unsure what the other comments are stating, really cool game and a unique take on the theme. Nice to see a mostly story based game in this jam with interesting dialogue as a plus! Good job!
I really liked the art style and the story!
Well, I can't change the files. It works on Firefox. What browser are you using?
